Papaya Dog

“Now while its not a Grays Papaya of NYC or Boulevard Drinks of Jersey City it is becoming the hot dog spot of Hoboken.”

“Overall a great spot if your waiting for a train and only have a few minutes, or are looking for something real cheap.”

  1. Not bad, not good, it is a hotdog place.  Standard in every regard, from the griddle to the buns to the condiment selection (or lack thereof).  The best thing about this place is the hours, as you never seem to eat a hot dog around lunch or dinner time (4th meal or 5th meal works nice).  Just pay attention to the ordering and pricing, as it is a bit tricky (they prey on drunk idiots from NYC).

  2. Tastes just like the New York Locations…3.99 for Two Dogs and a Juice !!! Great Deal and great Franks…(I get mine with onions..nothing else)…Thank you for bringing this to Hoboken and not another pizza or falafel place..phew !!!

  3. Initially I didn't plan on going here Taco truck was closed fortunate for me this place is 24 hrs. The place use to be hoboken pizza. which i do not miss how many pizza places can hoboken have? believe or not having a hot dog place is kind of different for hoboken. Not the crazy foot long from Windmill around the corner.

    The hot dogs grilled perfectly

2 hot dogs and a drink for 4 bucks there version of the Recession special

  4. I thought long and hard about how to rate this place. Is a take out hot dog place really worth a four star review? At the end of the day I pretty much decided it should be reviewed based on the merits of what it is… So what is this place? Fast food, cheap, open 24 hours, and satisfying for those late night cravings. Need a hotdog with the works? Done. Corn dog? Done. Fried chicken sandwich? Done. And all of it hits the spot. When you come here, you come for specific indulgences, and they don't disappoint here.

  5. Oh Papaya Dog. . . . you remind me of Cookout in North Carolina.  No frills.  Huge menu.  Terribly unhealthy food.  Crazy hours.  All of the things I love.

This is a great place to grab some drunk food.  I got a corndog and a hot dog.  Everything was prepared quickly and was super inexpensive.  I really appreciated the guy at the register giving me little cups to put ketchup and mustard in to take with me to go.

I really have nothing bad to say about this place.  It doesn't try to be anything but what it is and I love that.

Keep on, keepin on Papaya Dog.

  6. Hot Dogs cooked on the griddle with standard toppings.
Very good and $2 a piece.
    Used to be $1.50.
Have to try the burger one of these days.
only a few seats, eat and run.

  7. These aren't the highest quality burgers or fries or anything, but everything is pretty good for how cheap it is! And you're definitely getting more food here than at Mcdonald's for the same price. A solid drunk food option.

  8. One word: DIRTY

Not exactly like the Papaya Dog in the city. This one is more grimy, and the quality is much lower.

Got one hot dog with onions and one with chili & cheese. The chili or the cheese was sour, which is odd. The cashier kept sneezing, and wasn't paying attention…he asked me if I wanted a soda 3 times, and all 3 times I said "no." Later I saw him totally slacking off on a chair, watching TV. He was all spread out, and looked like a bum.
