I could eat a million of these hot dogs if i was allowed to eat myself sick constantly. One time I ordered 3 foot longs and after that meal I was pretty much done for the night and half of next day as my body decided how to deal with 36 inches of wiener….haha. Lets just say the next day was interesting but NO REGRETS!
So I been wanting to try a hotdog from New York because why not, and I decided to come here in the morning. There are lots of crazy combinations for hotdogs, and apparently they serve a lot of juices here too. Cash only, but really fast service. I think I ordered the Side on Top hotdog, which includes curly fries as a topping. Not bad for a hotdog, but it's nothing special. I also ordered a small pina colada here, and that drink was really good with lots of coconut flavor. If I ever come back, I'll have to be more adventurous in choosing my hotdogs.
If you're looking for some all American, greasy hot dogs and fries then look no more.
For the hot dogs, there's so many toppings to choose from, and their picture menu makes everything easier. We got the green hot (peppers toppings) and the one with curly fries and chili on top. Both were solid, but the latter hit the spot more.
You can ask for your hot dog burnt, if that's your thang.
Not many places have curly fries, and since I was a curly fries fiend in high school, I had to get it. Thumbs up.
Also got the loaded tater tots. There was so much we couldn't finish everything.
Really can't go wrong here. What you see is exactly what you get.
Remember that time on HIMYM…
Food comes out quick. Cash only. Basically, hot dogs and tropical drinks.
Original Combo – $5 – You get 2 hot dogs and a drink. I got mine with NY onions. Mango drink. Good snack. Hot dogs were your typical ballpark style hot dog. NY onions were tasty and tangy. Mango drink good but really sweet.
Very similar to Gray's Papaya but I thought it was not as good. Decent cheap eats but I prefer Gray's when in NY.
5 stars bc of the selection of toppings vs. other Papaya hot dog locations.
When you're wanting a hot dog, this is the place to go. Getting fries and a mango smoothie doesn't hurt the occasion at all either, trust me!
Don't understand what's special about this place. The sautéed onion tastes weird, there's a tiny place to sit/stand, and the hotdog itself was meh.
You get exactly what you order. Onion overload = hot dog with lotsa onions. Nothing out of the ordinary. It's a simple bun and frankfurter with toppings. Good thing they have going for them is the price. The combo #6 Grand Slam is 2 special frankfurters + curly fries + 16oz drink.
Also a really space so there's no place to sit.
Really fast service though. I think I got my dogs like 30 sec after I ordered
First note — if you're like me and don't carry cash around, know that this place is cash only. Thankfully, they have an ATM inside, which you can use for a small fee.
Alright, so Papaya King can get kinda busy but just get in line, order, and follow it to the end to get your goods. We got the chili cheese dog and one with hot peppers and a side of curly fries.
Both hot dogs were good! And that being said, while the seating is minimal at Papaya King, you can look east or west to find a place to sit too! Walk east and you'll hit the riverfront. Walk west and you'll hit Central Park. My fiancée and I chose the latter and found it to be relaxing. We'll definitely be back, and next time we'll probably take it east!
