  1. their food is average, but i must say that the bread and hummus dip they serve are noteworthy. the hummus was drenched in fresh pepper and olive oil which made the spread velvety and soooo delicious. bread was soft and fluffy. dine here for lunch if possible – it's cheaper.

  2. This review is based on a birthday shower as we had the space from 1-5pm. The restaurant is hard to miss on bell Blvd as the lettering is large and obnoxious. When you walk in, the bar is immediately on your right and the lighting is very poor and dim. This place could not accommodate all the guests. We were missing tables and chairs. Some guests had to sit at the bar. Additionally the restaurant was taking orders so people were constantly in and out of the restaurant.

Tables were set up for the menu and dinner rolls were already on the plates. So were bottles of wine and water.

As for the food. Salads and pastas for all. Both plates were lack luster. The salad was boring with some lettuce, onions, tomatoes and croutons with a lite drizzle of dressing. Nothing exciting. The pasta was penne in a tomato garlic sauce. Way too sour and tasted like it came from a can.. On the side was cheese that was just okay.

Entree options were veal Marsala, salmon oreganata or chicken parm. My table had someone order one of each so I was able to sample all.  The veal was boring and bland. The salmon was too fishy and the crust was overdressed. The chicken was overdressed with the tomato sauce so you could not taste anything else.

Food was terrible and service wasn't any better. Why anyone would come here is a question to me. Also very difficult to find paring. Don't come if you have a large party to hold. Definitely a miss. And I can't and won't recommend this place to anyone.

  3. Service and atmosphere are good. Food was terrible. We ordered from the night's specials and nothing satisfied. Chewy steak, mushy fish, both swimming in tasteless sauces, overlooked vegetables. And, a very large check to boot. Will skip this in the future.

  4. This has been my family's go-to Italian spot in the Queens/Nassau area for the past 15 years. We've dined here so many times it's impossible to count, but trust me when I say we've had MANY casual dinners here, as well as special occasions such as my sister's communion, numerous birthdays (still to this day my sister requests Papazzio's for her birthday dinner spot), and holidays.

The reasons we like it here are simple: the food is excellent, the service is great, the ambiance is just right, and all aspects have remained consistent over the years. Recently they have added valet parking, which is really convenient.

Simply put, Papazzio's is the best this town has to offer in terms of Italian food. My family has been coming here for years and will continue to do so. Lastly, Dominic (the owner) makes himself very accessible and visible, and is just a genuinely nice person who really cares about his customers.

  5. Just awesome! This is my new favorite italian restaurant in the bayside area. Its cozy and romantic. I felt like I was at a restaurant in NYC between the decor. service and food.

We got there early so we had a few drinks at the bar. The bartender was super fun and friendly. He also really knew his customers well.

The jazz band was awesome, they were a bunch of friendly guys who you can tell really enjoyed what they do. It was also nice because we got to enjoy the music and the music levels were just right. Not to loud that you couldnt have a conversation at the dinner table, but loud enough that you can enjoy the music in the backround.

The food was delicious! We ordered the mozzarella en corrozza and calamari fritte as appetizers and it was so good! The calamari was cooked to perfection, and it tasted fresh. Unlike some other italian restaurants where it is rubbery and chewey.

As for entrees, we had Pollo alla parmigiana, pollo e penne, grilled north atlantic salmon and pollo francaise. Everything came out timely and was full of flavor, fresh and just delicious.

I highly recommend this restaurant should you be in the area. You will not be let down!

  6. Just left the resto 2 hours ago and I can barely remember how the food was. The portion sizes were decent, the food was good, and the service was fine but I probably wouldn't go back if I was looking for a spot to satisfy my craving for Italian.
