I walk past here often since I work just down the street. What caught my eye was a set of Keith Haring tequila bottles on display in the window–that brought me in the store.
What do you want? They probably have it. I was so surprised at the friendly, down-to-earth approach many of the sales associates had. I was greeted by nearly everyone I came within five feet of, a rarity in New York. I was initially overwhelmed at the wine selection (I've already decided to save bourbon for another day), and a few employees made quick suggestions, and left me to browse until I had a question–and they were knowledgable! When I went to pay for my two bottles, the cashier made sure that I saw their entire Pinot Noir collection and Sauvignon Blanc, and then offered me a pour from their tasting of the day. He also offered to quick chill my bottle of white before I left. So, so nice.
I would definitely come back to this place. With so many options and such a friendly staff, it's ok with me that my go-to cheap Sauvignon Blanc is $3 more than most shops in Manhattan, but it's worth it to be given actual interest as a person, and not just a money cow.
Surprised that there are so few reviews of this all things alcohol shop.
The guys here really know what they are talking about and they seem quite passionate as well. There was a guy here last time who was giving samples of three types of excellent quality gin.
I might be overrating (might deserve a 4.2 due to price) but the fact is that they also carry Amarula as well. I've been looking all over for it and I found it here. Nice guys, excellent selection.
Came here to do an inventory survey once. This place has a HUGE liquor / wine selection with very well inform, knowledgable and yet, friendly staff. They even have chocolate liquor for the chocolate lovers. Don't remember seeing any beers tho. Overall, definitely recommend.
