  1. I ordered pick up from Park Wayne diner. I've never been here before and checked yelp longing for a Greek salad with anchovies. I called and asked if their Greek Salad came with anchovies and the woman on the phone advised it did  not but they were willing to put them on for me. So sure! I figured I'd still give this place a go (even with the lackluster of good reviews). We ordered 2 salads for pickup. The arugula chicken portabello mushroom salad and (as previously mentioned) the Greek salad. The portabello mushroom salad was pretty good! however, the Greek salad really missed the mark. The dressing was tasteless and essentially just oil. The ingredients were ok, in regards to freshness, at best and the feta cheese was certainly not crumble Greek feta, almost creamy and a bit tangy instead of salty. I mean, the place didn't do anything wrong but I doubt I'll order salad from there again. 2 stars for the accommodation of the anchovies.

  2. Stopped in for lunch, several specials at $7.95 and $8.95 with entree, soup, beverage, dessert.  A good deal.  My friend had the meatloaf which was pretty good.

I went with the chili cheeseburger which was OK, the burger could have been better.  Chili was good.  The fries were nice. Split pea soup was OK, The bread pudding was passable.  Decent coffee.

Service was fine – place was busy but the food came out fast. Worth a stop if you are in the mood for diner food.

  3. Just walked out. Waited almost 10 minutes. No water, no drinks, no waiter, no nothing so we left. Im sure they didnt even notice we bounced. Maybe the next people can use the menus. I try to keep going back always a disappointment. Definitely not Park West like. Sitting in another diner now drinking my water and ice tea I got in no time. Its a shame its a under 2 miles from my house.

  4. I'm a Wayne girl. When the KGD (Wayne terminology) closed down to make way for Park Wayne, it was very bittersweet for me, as it probably was for many Wayners. (I just said that). On one hand, my high school burger/fries joint was leaving me! On the other hand, Park West on route 3 is (was) a great diner so now that their family was taking over my beloved King George, maybe I had something cool to look forward to. KGD certainly could have benefitted from some cosmetic upgrading.

When it first opened, I was excited to see the renovations. Everything was clean and shiny. Food was really fresh and service was good. Lots of extra tables now that the creepy old bar in the back now was extra dining space.

Sorry to report, everything's gone downhill in the few years Park Wayne has taken over. What started out as good is now fairly crappy. Service noticeably declined as has management. It's evident at the front desk/register. Holy attitude! Food slipped big time. Not gross, just not close to what it was.

Prefer to drive an extra 10 minutes to the smaller and tastier Oakland Diner. Sorry, guys.

  5. I had eggs benedict from here. They had a few different benny options so I assumed it'd be good. Meh… pretty tasteless and the eggs were under-cooked. Disappointing.

  6. How the mighty have fallen. This used to be my go-to spot during long tireless nights of studying. I would have a tuna melt, along with their famous split pea soup. Their split pea soup with biscuits renewed my faith in humanity. SO good. But over the years, the quality in food and service declined. A shame. I will still come back here, but not with the same anticipation I used to come here with.

  7. My grandparents knew the old owners when it was "King George Diner", so we went all the time. I still go when I'm home, as it's very reliable diner food. The last time I was there I had the Monterrey Jack burger, which had the right amount of spice and was very filing. I remember always sitting in a booth and playing music out of their old school jukebox, and coming here after our 8th grade prom and feeling like rockstars…albeit, with our parents sitting in neighboring booths, spying on us. People in my high school would also come here to cut class…only to find our resource officer and disciplinarian waiting. Gotta change it up sometimes.

  8. Ahhh just ok. Oatmeal was luke warm coffee was luke warm and breakfast wrap was average. Take the ride to 23 and go to the pompton queen.
