  1. It's right off of northern blvd and on douglaston pkwy. Parking can get tough so best bet is park along northern blvd. It's not a typical diner where they have a lot. It's a small restaurant sandwich in between two stores.

We got there at 8:30am and service was unbelievably slow. The food was average. Nothing amazing out of the things we ordered. I probably would never go there again.

  2. SCAMMERS!!!!!!

    Ordered to go.

    1) Two eggs scrambled with corned beef hash. (Menu price 9.15) comes with home fries and toast.
    – charged me $6.15 and charged the corn beef hash as a side $4.95 (totaling $11.10)

    2) Fried egg sandwich $2.55
    – charged me $3.55

Extra .40 cents for to go orders (they charged me TWO times @ .40cnts!!!!)

I didn't realize that they charged me extra until I looked at the receipt.

Charged me $16.82 versus $13.15…extra $3.67 ($13.28 if ordered on Yelp24 app.= extra $3.54 Parkway Diner charged me).

Asked the young blonde lady who took my order to explain the overages.

    1) Asked shouldn't the egg platter with corned beef hash be 9.15; reply was that she had to charge me separately cause there was nowhere in the system for that option and that I ordered the items separately.  Note, I pointed at the menu when ordering and when I was disputing the questionable charge.

I then went onto the Yelp24 app and added all things into cart to show that there was a price difference.

Young blonde Lady in front then says okay I'll do it for you next time…WTF!? What kind of excuse is this.

    There is no next time…

So basically their response was that "sorry for the charge error, but will fix that next time" is like saying "sorry for robbing you a few bucks, hope we fix that next time you come back."

Tasted the food and the sodium levels were through the roof. So salty and so dry.

After a few bites, I tossed everything into the trash.  I was hoping the food would be somewhat better, but nope..money down the drain and food down the drain with it.

  3. I was looking for a new restaurant to try and came across this one on Yelp and I was pleasantly surprised. I came here this morning with my boyfriend and my parents. We arrived at 10am and had no problem getting a table. I ordered the whole wheat pancakes with a side of 2 eggs. My boyfriend ordered the whole wheat waffle with fruit. My mom ordered a vegetable omelette. My dad ordered a get and spinach omelette. The eggs come with home fries/french fries and toast/bagel. My pancakes were great; flavorful, somewhat dense and filling but delicious none the less. Everyone was very happy with their meal. The staff was wonderful- attentive and very friendly. Reasonable prices. We will definitely be back!!

  4. Great little diner off of Northern Blvd that I stopped in a couple of weeks ago, for breakfast. I had the Lumberjack combo plus a side of home fries and, as starving as I was, I couldn't put it all away. My order consisted of Challah French Toast, copious amounts of bacon, two eggs sunny side up, coffee, and OJ (and the aforementioned home fries). Everything was simply delicious and plentiful.

The French Toast was just crispy enough on the outside but eggy and fluffy on the inside. It was not too sweet and a little maple syrup set it off just right. The bacon was crispy and delicious and the eggs were perfectly made, soft, and beautiful. The side of home fries was HUGE! Like the French Toast, the fries were crispy and fluffy/soft in all the right places.

I came in famished and left absolutely stuffed. As a matter of fact, I couldn't think about lunch until mid-afternoon…and I didn't even care.

The greeter/cashier and server were both super friendly and welcoming. They even welcomed me to come back as I was leaving and – as minor as that may sound – you don't always get that in this area. I would say they gave me the service and warmth I would expect when I shell out big money at a fancy restaurant. I don't expect that from a (reasonably priced) diner or similar establishment. Parkway is easily my favorite diner in the area and it surpasses other more well known and larger diners in the vicinity. I'm definitely coming back here.

  5. This place wasn't bad. We were hungry and needed somewhere to grab brunch quickly on a Saturday afternoon. It was cheaper to order from the regular menu instead of the brunch menu for breakfast. Me and my boyfriend both had the waffle with eggs and bacon. Our waffles were overcooked.

  6. We had a really good brunch at the Parkway Diner.

I had pancakes, eggs, turkey sausage, rye toast, and disco fries (poutine, but with normal cheese, not curds).  All were great, and they even had the gravy for the fries on the side, which was both convenient (cuz gravy can really sog up your fries) and tasty.

The fries are close to perfect.  They tick all my boxes for a diner fry – golden, crispy, substantial.  They're good on their own with ketchup, but hold up to toppings (perhaps chili next time?).

Friend had a wrap that looked generous, with fries, and my husband had an omelet that he tells me was just that, nothing special.

Choice of juice that came with the brunch was actually a regular size glass of juice instead of a tiny side – woohoo!  Also included tea or coffee.

Decor is minimal with exposed beams overhead and great sunlight around the front tables.  Very clean.  Service was friendly, accurate, and available.

    We will most definitely return!

  7. Like this local diner … not many in Douglaston. Their coffee is not great but their food is good. I liked the burgers and the fries. Esp the fries with cheese and gravy.  The breakfast food is your standard diner fare. Pricing is a little competitive esp for a diner in a small hood like Douglaston but it's open late and the service is friendly.

Give it a try and see what you think. I measure a good diner by it's soups,  burgers,  and service. I'll go back just because I'd like to see it succeed. They could use a few improvements especially marketing their desserts. I've never ordered them but see them in a refrigerated glass case. The staff should try and sell it!

  8. i come from the home of diners, jersey that is and i have to say, Parkway Diner was pretty good based on my standards.

They have what seems to be the basic diner food and some creative options, but everything was really tasty. their hollandaise sauce was perfect, not salty (which is what ive had issues with in the past), not too buttery or thick. the poached eggs were cooked perfect and my avocado was fresh—i had the califronia eggs benedict of course. My date had the graham cracker and nutella pancakes, not gonna lie we both thought the pancakes should have these inside of the pancakes but overall he was happy with them. To say they were filling was an understatement.

The service was quick and on par, the servers deff. took care of us.
