  1. My Persian buddy Shahriar introduced me to this Iranian restaurant. It looks like a catering hall inside. Good authentic kebobs. I love their kofta kebob,( chopped meat )kebob with mouth watering spices. Their chicken and beef kebobs are delicious  as well. They also offer traditional Iranian appetizers and entrees.. And don't forget the duke and baklava for dessert.

  2. It has been a while since I have gone to a place and felt like I needed to run home and review it.  Patoug you have the honor of being on my mind for an entire day, however bad news is, I will not be honoring you, but instead shaming you.  Well in actuality you shamed yourself.

First off bad sign number one, we were the only table in there.  I cracked a few jokes to my family and on a more serious note I said to my brother, when I walk into a place like this, I immediately leave.

Second bad sign, they brought over a HUGE basket of pitas!  That's not the bad part, I look at it and notice it's a little odd.  It's a little warm but textually felt odd.  So I ate a little bit.  Then thought wait this can't be…  I attempted to open it up, and yes it was pita sandwich bread…  I asked the server, "do you have anything other than pita sandwich bread?  do you have regular pitas for dipping?"  Server, "this is the only bread we have."  Wow sad story, but I guess you need to use that Costco membership.

We had 2 servers to 8 people and an empty restaurant, yet the service was mediocre.  There were times when they were lurking, clearing plates as quickly as they can so they can close.  Well they did specify that they close at 9:30 to us when we sat down at around 8:00pm.

For appetizers we ordered some hummus, baba ganoush, the fried dumplings and they gave us a free serving of  some potato dip thing which I have never had.
Hummus was flavorless and thick as concrete…  You could not dip into this, you actually needed to take spoonfuls or forkfuls of this…  the baba ganoush, well this was overly smokey and guess what… watery!  The dumplings well anything taste alright when it is deep fried and then you submerge it in sauce.  The potato dip thing was the best part of the entire meal.  It was a good consistency and tasted like ground up potato salad!  Yum.

When I first tried to dip into the hummus I already knew the rest was going to be terrible.  I ask my brohter who he ate with, then asked if everybody liked it.  He said they did…  He might have been drunk though.  So I text my sister, she responds and says, "the lamb shank was okay".  Then I said, "said okay yeah this place sucks."  She responds, "well just note that we went shopping for an entire day and that was our only meal after like 8 hours."  MAKES SENSE!!!

Do I need to get into the rest of the food?  Everything was either overly salty or super bland.  They did however make the rice well.

Now let's get back to the service.  In addition to not being attentive, and trying to rush us out, they also served plates over people's heads and took plates from under the arms and above the heads.  I have never waited tables before but I know that's not something you want to do.

I am surprised there are any good reviews here.  Actually there is one 5 star review that is recent, but then again this person only has 1 review.  Fishy much?  Probably.

After leaving this place I read through the reviews on my phone.  I realized I should have read them beforehand and also others before actually eating at a place, because well 3 stars can actually be skewed when there are few reviews, like in this case.

So anyways moral of the story:
1 – Never go to Patoug unless you want to experience the worst middle eastern, mediterranean cuisine you have ever had the opportunity to experience.
2 – When looking up a place on yelp via mobile, make sure you read reviews to establish a strong case as to why you should leave the restaurant if having an empty restaurant is not enough to persuade your friends and such.

P.S. – I can go on and list more negatives but I think you got the point.

They also have tvs on at extremely high volume levels.
