  1. I must admit Peaches is average. The menu has not changed in about two years and the portions are strikingly small and expensive. I live the local ambience but seriously you are paying for this place because its highly trendy and its located in the new, improved, and gentrified Bed Stuy…save your money.

  2. A great spot for dinner on a lovely summer evening. The place is super relaxed, staff was helpful, food was yummy. We stopped here around 6pm for dinner and the restaurant was not crowded which was nice. Our waiter, Chris, was great with his recommendations for dinner. We had the spiced salmon and the shrimp and grits. A great spot for dinner and will visit again.

  3. As someone who works in the community, I really really really wanted to LOVE this place! The atmosphere is definitely super chill and all of the staff were incredibly friendly.  Loved the vibes all around.

I didn't love the food, though, hence the 3 stars.  I got the grits and catfish and beet salad.

    Grits and catfish:
-Catfish was too salty and dry for my liking
-Grits were good but oh-so-unhealthy as they were pure butter and cheese.
-For $18, it was not a lot of food and definitely not worth it.

    Beet salad:
    -Skip this salad.
-For $10, I got a handful of arugula, beets and some weird yogurt smushed on the bottom. SO not worth it!

Food was meh, but I definitely would come back to have a drink and chill!

  4. Overall 3 stars (Not bad)
    Food: 3 stars
    Service: 3 stars
    Decor: 2 stars
    Value: 3 stars
Will I go back? Probably not.

Was in Brooklyn recently and needed a place to eat.  Found peaches via yelp and stopped in for Saturday brunch. I thought it would be good considering there was a line up to get in before it opened.

    Food:
food was just ok. My daughter, a fussy eater, loved her burger proclaiming it was "better than McDonald's!" (Her standard).  I ordered the grits and steak tips (or whatever it was called–some sort of grits and beef). It was heavy on the grits, heavy on the beef flavor, but low on the meat.  The arigula side salad was decent though.  My wife ordered a ceasar salad and she was underwhelmed also.

    Service:
Our server was extremely friendly and noted the food allergy by checking with the kitchen about our concerns.  However after our order was taken, we didn't see much more of her.

    Decor:
My reviews don't say much about restaurant's decor, except if they're crowded.  This place was waaaaay too crowded.  The gentleman at the table behind me and I were constantly fighting for space, and there is not enough room to pass between tables.

    Value:
    Nothing special.  Average.

    Will i go back?
    Probably not. Wasn't impressed.

  5. A friend of mine told me about this place a couple of years ago, and when I found out my other friend Liz was staying in Brooklyn, we naturally had to go….and I'm so glad we did!  Warm friendly greeting when walked in, and though the place was full and there were some people waiting, it was only about 15 minutes wait time.

Jordan took great care of us and we spent a good three hours there!  Felt like we were at someone's house!  I ordered the delicious turkey meatloaf with the tastiest mashed potatoes.  Normally I ask for extra gravy to smother them in, but these were so good!  I also had the kale salad to start which came with this yummy peanut dressing!  Liz and Rob ordered a bunch of their sides, and we all kind of shared.  The baked macaroni and cheese was pure heaven!  The grits were creamy and the collard greens were sooo good!  Loved their cornbread!  We also had the decadent brownie and the delicious peach melba!

We enjoyed it so much, we all met up for breakfast a couple days later because two of the workers told us that breakfast was just as good!  I ordered the turkey sausage omelette which came with these wonderful crispy potatoes.  Liz shared her granola crusted french toast which was delicious!!!  It was a great meal to start the day…even though it was already noon!  Kira took really good care of us and I seriously was thinking of selling everything I owned to move out here!

I can't wait to come back to New York and visit this wonderful slice of heavenly deliciousness!

  6. Peaches is an old neighborhood standby for brunch and takeout with decent soul food and spotty service.

Sounds a bit boring? Well, with the exception of the unforgettably delicious  Brooklyn wings, you're bound to be yawning at the pricey menu, the franchise ambience, the takes-forever service–if you aren't blessed enough to get our most recent server there whose name escapes me–the small and needs-several-more-chairs front foyer and the "bright" hostess that held almost every table in the restaurant besides one with a large party, looked like a family was celebrating a graduation.

She seemed overwhelmed by their celebration, and pretty much said that the kitchen couldn't handle any other orders, hence the 20 minute wait for us and the hungry people that almost left but were promptly whisked to a table once the hostess realized that they were leaving. My boyfriend complained! Yes we were hangry and a child was with us. There were so many open tables, so the crowd forming at the barely there waiting area didn't make sense.

The restaurant's manager overheard him complaining and prompted the hostess to seat more parties. We finally got our seat, but the fight to get it took my appetite away. I felt tired and the LO fell asleep on my lap shortly after he ordered.

We got the delicious Brooklyn wings, the meh jumbo lump crab cakes, and the flounder–a very basic version of fried fish and chips. Our food was just ok, as were our overly sweet and forgettable cocktails.

As many complaints as I have about Peaches, you'd think I wouldn't come back but truth be told it's the first place that comes to mind for a local date night. So I will be back but mainly for take out.

  7. Brunching is definitely a thing all across the country but in NYC it is THE THING TO DO!

I was visiting NYC  and a friend of mine recommended Peaches, so we decided to give it a try! We went on a Saturday around noon and it was busy which isn't a surprise for brunch.  We had a party of six and only waited 15 minutes for our seats! They had live music which set the mood and kept it very classy and jazzy. We truly enjoyed ourselves with the strawberry mimosas , but they were $10 a glass. We loved all of our dishes. We had one who had catfish and grits, I had an egg white omelette and the rest of the girls got the infamous granola crusted french toast. It was so good served with fresh fruit and it was good enough to have without having syrup on it.  The meals were fulfilling and will leave you satisfied!

The staff was quite friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The price is pretty good with everything between $10-20.  It is definitely a great place to check out if you are in the Bedstuy neighborhood of Brooklyn!

  8. So my Brooklyn friends wanted to take me to an awesome restaurant in BK and suggested Peaches.  I have heard so-so reviews from other friends that frequent this location.  We went for dinner around 8ish on a weekday.  It was suppose to be a party of 3, but one of my friends were running behind.  They will not seat you until your entire party is present, and makes perfect sense.  Once the third person joined us we were seated immediately in a nice cozy corner.

WARNING! Everything on the menu looks amazing.

I got so lost in looking at the menu and trying to figure out what I was eating for dinner that I forgot a good amount time had went by before our server had approached our table.  We mentioned it to the host and he said would grab our server.  Our server (Randy) was nice and personable upon greeting our table.  I ordered the gumbo and the shrimp po'boy.  The gumbo came up pretty fast and it was rather tasty.  I was expecting to have a little more flavoring than it did, but it was not terrible.  The Shrimp Po'Boy did not disappoint!  The shrimp they use are rather huge and I believe there was 5 or 6 on the sandwich.  The sauce they put on the Po'Boy was like crack and had me sold on the sandwich.  By time we were ready for the check it took a long time for our server to come over to the table or to even get his attention.  Once again I had to motion for the host for assistance.  It appeared our server was super behind the bar, but he did eventually come over to her table to take our payment.  I had a feeling I had a rather new server.  One thing I will mention is I left smelling like fried chicken, and I am assuming because the kitchen is rather open and that is why the smell travels.  They do have an outdoor seating area that I will opt for next time.  Also, Peaches has a full bar right next door that had some pretty awesome signature cocktail drinks.

Overall, the my experience at Peaches was good but because of the food, and I feel like the service could use a little help.  I will be sure to give it another try.
