  1. Being Korean-American living in Northern NJ, I've absolutely had my fill of Korean friends chicken, but this place is probably the #1 real deal.  Beginning with their simple menu, a wait list of orders front and back on several pieces papers, and a husband and wife duo who are simply working it with the fryer, bowls of chicken, and a brush to flavor the sauce.

We got their bone in and boneless chicken in both flavors. The chicken is moist, soft and fresh.  The rice and chicken bowl was simple and good too. The steak fries were fried perfect and the slaw it comes with is a refreshing additive.

So much support and foodie love for this hardworking couple!

  2. Peck Peck Korean Fried Chicken in Teaneck NJ.  A hole in the wall place with rave reviews.  I ordered a medium order of 8 sweet and spicy wings…all meaty, messy but NOT greasy.  Very good!  Oh, and a side of healthy brown and white rice.  The wings were not from Costco!

  3. I love Korean fried chicken. I was visiting a friend in this area and came across this place on yelp when I was looking for places to try Korean friend chicken.

In all honesty, the fried chicken is solid but not exactly five stars.  The chicken is lightly crispy without being too heavy.  The sauces are fairly yummy. The reason why I'm giving it five stars is I really enjoyed the workers there while I was there.  It's not in a classically Asian neighborhood and from talking to the owners son, they are aiming to reach out to the non Asian community in the area.  It's a small hole in the wall restaurant, rather unassuming, but I really enjoyed the genuine of the owners there.

Not to mention you really can beat the price. Haha. It tastes not too differently from Bon chon but the price is about half of it.

Only thing to mention is that the wait time is rather long. However the chicken is well worth the wait and you'll enjoy talking to the workers there.

  4. This is some of the best wings I have ever had. I knew it was going to be good right when I walked into this hole in the wall restaurant. The place can only seat a little over 10 people. These wings are fried to crispy perfection as I expect from Korean chicken. The soy garlic was my favorite, a little tangy, a little sweet, and a lot of garlic. The wings do take a while so if you are in a rush I would call in your order. The cole slaw was very good as well, just wet enough and not overly covered in mayo. This was a great way to celebrate nation wings day!

  5. I'm an out of towner and relied on yelp to get me some delicious dinner. Yelp did not disappoint. Grabbed an uber and came to peck peck! Don't let the hole in the wall look scare you from delicious chicken!!

    Order:
small soy garlic wings (5 pieces) $4.25
    Chicken croquettes (2 pieces) $1.75
    Pickled veggies $1.95

Came out to $8.50 and it was damn delicious!! The chicken wings coated in delicious sauce, but still holds the crunch and doesn't turn soggy. It was perfection.

PASS on the chicken croquettes…. Sorry, but it just wasn't good. Tasted like mashed potatoes inside a hard shell. Didn't taste the chicken, sauce, or bell peppers at all. If anyone's in California, try the croquettes or potato balls at Porto's bakery. They won't let you down.

Pickled veggies was pickled veggies, nothing special to it, but I love pickled veggies with my fried chicken so I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Called in for this order and they told me 40-45 minutes. Too bad I was already in the uber and 5 minutes away.. The old lady was so nice!! She made my order right away and I was able to eat in 15 minutes.

No one else sat down the entire time I was there. Just a ton of people picking up. This place cannot fit more than 10 people if you want to dine in. It's so small, there's no trash can. They kindly took my bag of rubbish and tossed it for me. I would have definitely given 5 stars if it weren't for the chicken croquettes.

Bottom line: GET YOUR CHICKEN HERE!!

  6. The *only* reason why I drove to Teaneck was to check this place out and taste how great the chicken is. Outside of that, I had no business in the area; however, it was worth the detour. First of all, this place is located on the corner of Degraw and Queen Anne. There's a small parking lot next to Peck Peck aside from street parking. The menu is relatively short–there's a section for wings, wings and drumstick combos, chicken tenders, side dishes, and sauces (separate). You can see the chicken being prepared from the counter.

As for the food, I highly recommend eating the chicken as soon as possible. I ordered the 6 wing/3 leg combo, and found it to be delicious; I chose soy garlic as my flavor. The skin was crispy and crunchy, the meat was cooked thoroughly, and the soy miso marinade was surprisingly strong. Some may find that flavor a wee bit salty, but I do think the sweetness counters it pretty well. I also bought a small plastic container of two sauces–wasabi mayo and their Boki sauce; the other sauce available is spicy mayo. The wasabi mayo tastes normal at first, but the wasabi flavoring gets to you after awhile. Personally, I prefer their Boki sauce–it's dark red, a little sweet, but more on the spicy side.

Overall, I dig it. I enjoyed what I ordered, but I think I'll just stick to the wings next time. Also, call ahead if you can. The owner said my order would take 25 minutes, but since there were no customers, it was ready in about 15. I'd come back for some wings.

  7. Simply stated: best Korean chicken, ever.

The wings are light and crisp, not heavy on the breading/coating.  The sauces are also light but FULL of flavor.  The first time I ordered here, I only ordered a few of each flavor of wing to see if they are any good.

    They are.

My two favorites are salt and pepper and soy garlic.

I loved them so much after the first trip i ordered two trays of wings for my family of five, plus my boyfriend (60 wings) only two days later. We ate them all.

If you order in person, you're in for a long wait but you can call your order in ahead of time and pick it up.  I must reiterate, it's very delicious.  There's a reason why they're always so busy.

    FYI:
-The restaurant is small, so big groups don't work here.  There are probably about 10 seats total? Maybe 12, but I could be wrong?
-The staff are very sweet and friendly.
-The wings are made to order when you order them, that's why it takes so long (and also because they're extremely busy).
-There are other items on the menu than chicken wings.

  8. Saw a review of this small restaurant on Yelp and decided to make the 70 mile round-trip for a look see. First, it's really small. I count about 4 or 5 tables (depending on how you push them together). We sat in a single table but the owner moved us to a bigger table so the generous portions would fit – and we were glad she did.

We tried the salt and pepper signature wings first. Unlike regular "hot" wings, these were full of flavor, tender inside and really crispy outside. The best wings I have ever eaten – Period.

Next, we had the sweet and spicy "tenders". Now, if you grew up with the fast food idea of what a chicken tender is, you should realize that here, the "tender" is more like a chicken breast. Seriously! Two "tenders" would be a meal for many normal sized people (no, not me). The flavor was, well, sweet AND spicy. Nose runny spicy but not lip numbing spicy. I loved them.

We also tried the soy garlic tenders and these were – an over used word alert here – amazing. Once again, perfectly cooked, full of flavor and generous in portion size. So good, we took some home for dinner.

The fries are steak fries and huge. a small portion is enough for two – maybe three. Perfectly fried and tasty.

Finally, we had the cole slaw – regular, not the spicy variety – and it was fresh, crunchy and ranked among a handful of great cole slaws in my dining experience. So good we also took a large portion of the slaw home for supper.

A couple of caveats. First, the shop is small, with very limited seating. I think if you came here during the typical lunch hours, you might not get a seat. Second, they cook your order when you place it. There is a small, friendly sign that tells you how long each order will take. It was accurate as to how much time they took to make your food and they were also right that the food was worth the wait.

If you saw the awning showing the name – Peck Peck Chicken – you might think this was just another low quality fried chicken place and move on. Wow, would you be wrong! This restaurant is a GEM – a true local "find" worthy of 5 stars for the taste of the food, size of the portions and creativity of the spicing.

If you are a foodie, a trip to Peck Peck needs to be on your bucket list. While we were leaving, another foodie came in and admitted he was making a 120 mile round trip for their food. NOTE – he called his order in ahead and it was waiting for him as he sat down. Smart.

A great find thanks to YELP – Sorry I can only give 5 stars.

    Bravo!
