Yes! Great juice bar / food bar section in the back – excellent for getting breakfast or lunch. I just finished having a dragon bowl (you get to combine up to 4 items – and I got kale, roasted veggies (brussel sprouts, spring beans, mushroom), gluten free brown rice pasta with olives and string beans, and tempeh.
They mash it all in a 12 oz container and boy oh boy was it good! Only $6 too! I want to try their scramble and their steel cut oatmeal (large for $4) the next time I come. There are so many gluten free vegan options that it's cray cray!
The rest of the market is well stocked with gourmet organic/healthier brands – including a skin care section and a small but decent fresh fruit and veggies section. Prices can get up there but service is always good/friendly every time I've come and they have plenty of cashiers so it's never a super long wait (at least during the time of day I stop by)
+++
– Chocolate almond milk, PB, banana smoothie is thick and hearty. It can replace a meal
++
– Avocolada is good, they use a lot of lime juice. It's not as hearty. Add protein, and it can replace half a lunch.

– Great , friendly staff
– Fresh ingredients
–
– Smoothies don't come sweetened (Make sure you ask for honey or agave)
– Prepared food looks delicious. Too bad I'm not into fake meat. :O
Oh, this place is PRETTY and…completely random. I really wasn't expecting this little gem in the area. I wanted to buy one of everything…but as usual, it's overpriced and staff were either a little rude or dismissive. I won't lie though, if I end up working there, I'd probably buy a smoothie/juice/vegan treat every day. Definitely props to the large sellection of fresh prepped food though!
Stepping in, there is always a strong smell that I've come to believe is characteristic of all natural food markets – a nose-tingling potpourri of herbs, hemp, and patchouli that is redolent of a lifestyle far healthier than I could ever sustain (even as a committed vegan). The aisles are any health nut's dream – organic produce, meat alternative products, all types and kinds of nondairy milks, a fully refrigerated room in the back with bulk bins of nuts, and even a health and beauty wall on the far side, with every supplement, oil, and body product you could imagine. There are also plenty of meat and dairy items stashed right alongside their vegan counterparts, one of the few stores I know where the two can share friendly shelf space.
Unfortunately, the prices here are much to steep to make Perelandra a regular stop for groceries (at least, for my sparse wallet); however, the food and drink bar in the back is just. so. wonderful. The chalkboard above eye level boasts all of the smoothies and juices, which seem pretty popular with the many who wait in line. I've had the Brooklyn Sunrise (freshly juiced orange, carrot, and beet) and the Professor Nut Butter smoothie (chocolate almond milk, peanut butter, and ice), both of which were lovely for a midday pick-me-up. Speaking of which, they also turn out freshly baked breads and goodies each day, all of which are vegan. Don't let that turn you omnivores off your hunger – these are fabulous and the fact that they're vegan only makes me indulge in these sweets more licentiously. My non-vegan fiancé and I are particularly fond of their chocolate chip bars, which run out pretty quickly. Their 'dragon bowls' allow you to choose up to four of the refrigerated entrees – usually lentils, quinoa, pasta, herbed tofu, or orange glazed tempeh – for around six bucks, and it's my go-to energy meal when I know I have a long day ahead of me. Their soups are hearty and if you're a fan of spice, I recommend the spicy tomato lime soup with the chip and cheese toppings. I've tried nearly every sandwich here – the TLT (tempeh, lettuce, tomato), the 'unchicken' sandwich, and the breakfast sandwich (pictured below – my favorite) – and have nothing bad to say about any of these…except one. The chickpea sandwich – a mash of chickpeas, some vinegary dressing, and greens stuffed between sandwich bread – is meh, both in texture and taste, but certainly not terrible.
Note: Everything here is made fresh daily so when they run out, it's done for the day.
It's funny in these health food stores. We all have food items in our hands quietly reading labels. It's a food library up in here. Lol
It reminds me a bit of Food Nut. There's a deli type counter where you can get food to go.
I didn't purchase anything on this vist as I found it a bit pricy. From what I've seen they stock everything you'll need for the fabulously organic you.
The End.

Pretty good natural organic store in Brooklyn Heights. Given its size, the store carries a range of products ranging from vitamins to fresh produce to spices to frozen products (such they seem to have a lot of). Product seems fresh, stocked, clean and organized. This place reminds me of Westerly / a mini whole foods. Lines are generally short and hours are open. There seems to be a rush during lunch for the soups / juices / smoothies in the back but there is a separate cashier line for that. The only real negative is price, which seems high even for organic product. I wouldn't come here to do all of organic shopping. Note there are sale items and they are usually located in front of the aisles making it easy to find and highlight.
If I could give 3.5 stars, that would be my final rating.
On New Year's Day I had been watching a marathon of the TV Show "Resturant Startup" and they were featuring a vegan hotdog known as "Yeah Dawg!". At the end of the episode, the owners decided they did not really want to run a resturant, instead they wanted to focus on the distribution of their hotdogs.
The product was based in NYC – and I'm sitting here in NYC, so I decided to google it and see if I could find it. Sure enough, the word online was that it could be found at Perelandra in Brooklyn. So my quest began!
A quick hop on the 5 train – switch at Fulton Street to the 2 train (the 4 wasn't running to Brooklyn) and then head street side at Borough Hall. A quick walk around the block and there was Perelandra.
This store is great! Seems like it has everything a health concerned consumer could possibly want. I was on the search specifically for the "Yeah Dawgs" however, so I wasted no time.
There they were – situated in the freezer section right near the Boca Burgers. I quickly grabbed a pack and then decided to take a quick moment to look around as I figured since I was here, I might as well see what else might interest me.
I was hungry – so I grabbed a pre made tofu wrap (chicken style) and then a ginger/orange filtered water drink. Both were good.
I made my way to the check-out line – staff was very friendly and quickly processed my purchase.
And there you have it, my experience at Perelandra. Will I be back??? Well, I guess that depends on how much I really love the "Yeah Dawgs" and whether they ultimately start distributing them outside of Brooklyn. But if I was actually in the neighborhood, I wouldn't hesitate to drop in again.
