Phattra Thai Restaurant
“The roti appetizer is always a must for me to order in every thai restaurant.”
“For entrees, 5 of us split:
tofu pad kra pao: 4.5/5 (just wish there was more sauce-y)
shrimp pad Thai: 4/5
massaman curry:5/5
vegetable drunken fried rice: 5/5
Also it's BYOB!”
“This was one of the better massaman curries I've had, despite my generally not being a massaman fan.”

It took some time but I finally found my Thai restaurant. I have worked in the area for about two and a half years and have had some very mediocre Thai during that time. In fact, I stopped eating Thai because I couldn't find a spot I truly liked until Phattra. My friends and I stumbled upon this gem recently and have been hitting it up on a weekly basis which says a lot for us because we usually try a new restaurant every week. But exceptions can be made and this is certainly the exception.
So what makes it so good you may ask? For one thing, the interior of the restaurant is beautiful. It's pristine, decorated nicely and has plenty of natural light streaming through the windows (the complete opposite of the other Thai spots I've been to in the area). The owner is extremely friendly and always makes sure that our glasses are full and can never be seen without a smile on his face. In fact, he was playing Christmas music on our last visit (May) which I got a kick out of.
The food is priced right with regular lunch specials and comes accompanied with Thai salad (one of the few salads I actually enjoy). The pad thai and green curry are absolutely delicious. If you are going to carb out, make it worth your while and do it here. Five stars as I cannot think of a bad thing to say. See ya next week.
