Pho Vietnam
“The beef cubes, or beef or pork everything's. The pho is a little blandish but just condiment that thing up.”
“Shaved ice
Coconut milk
Red beans
Green jelly
Some custards thing
Coconut jelly I think
I don't really know what's in it, so ill stop but I love it!”
“Pho Hoai is good too and has a somewhat larger menu, but I think the basic food quality is much the same at both places, and Pho Vietnam is closer to my apartment. :)”

It's my 700th review! So for my 700th, I've decided to finally review one of my favorite Vietnamese restaurants in Brooklyn, since I recently got the chance to have lunch here.
Pho Vietnam is one of two viet places on Avenue U. It's also the better option. Better service, and better food.
I ordered my go-to, which is cold vermicelli with a combination of the spring rolls + some type of meat. Usually, I get beef but this time, I decided to step (only a little) outside of the box and got the minced pork. It came out this weird reddish-looking pork patty, but it was surprisingly good. Pho Vietnam did not disappoint, yet again!
For hangover days, I go with their pho #1 which has all sorts of beef goodies in it and seems to be their most popular.
I think I'll have to start trying out some of their other menu items. But the cold vermicelli dish is just so good that I can't pass it up. I guess I'll just have to order two things next time!
Very good Vietnamese in the Gravesend area of Brooklyn. Came for lunch and the place was packed. A couple minutes later, a table opened up for us. Ordered the shrimp summer rolls which was the only disappointment. They lacked fresh mint and the peanut sauce wasn't good at all and gooey. Ordered the braised beef stew with rice noodles. The beef was super tender and the broth was very tasty. The chicken curry soup was delicious and served with a nice warm baguette on the side. Service leaves a little to be desired, abrupt and cold but prices are very low. I'll certainly come back to try more dishes.
I'm a teacher so I seldom get to go very far/exotic for food. One day I decided to treat myself and bike over for some take-out. Mind you I've had pho from all over the world, including Vietnam, and this is just like what you'll get at most places in NYC. It's good quality, nothing fanciful and no frills, but it'll get the job done if you're craving Pho {fun fact – literal translation as "fire truck head" in Chinese}. A bit on the pricey side for me (what amounts to about a $1 difference) but the service is fast and pleasant. Enjoy! I'll write another review if I ever try the beef cubes with rice or the beef stew noodle – my other two favorite viet dishes. Enjoy!
We were in Sheepshead Bay this past Saturday and craving a savory banh mi. Our good ol' buddy Yelp informed us that this Brooklyn neighborhood isn't known for Vietnamese sandwiches, but suggested we try Pho Vietnam. We always find advice from our buddy helpful, so we decided to give it a try, despite the establishment not specializing in banh mi.
We were seated right away into a corner table and handed menus, noticing the cleanliness of the furniture and space. We ordered a XL pho, a banh mi and a Vietnamese iced coffee to share. The pho came within minutes and we devoured it while waiting for our coffee to drip completely from the coffee press. The pho was tasty with generous portions of beef. No complaints. The coffee was also perfect – not too much or too little condensed milk, giving it its perfect caramel color, and bold enough to meet my standards. Surprisingly, the banh mi was as well quite tasty! The bread was toasted just right and the fillings were spot on! My only complaint was that it was a tad on the salty side, but besides that it utterly amazed me. I didn't have high banh mi expectations but they really left me speechless. T'was a yummy lunch. Pho sho!
My go to Pho restaurant in Brooklyn! I used to go to Pho Tay Ho but their quality went down these past few years.
Spring Rolls and Bun Bo Hue is my usual here. Their broth is way better than other pho places in the area. The spring rollls here are also very filling although a little small.
Vermicelli noodles with grilled pork, veggies and fish sauce. The portions are way bigger than 8th ave. My friend's pho dishes were huge!! We were seated right away and the food came out extremely fast. It felt like 5 minutes later, which was perfect because we were all starving! The tea service was also fast and we didn't feel rushed to leave after finishing our meal. We sat for a long long time after finishing our meal, we eat fast!
This Vietnamese place has always been the one I would go to despite the fact that there's another one closer to where I live. This one is so much better than the other one (Pho Haoi). The soup noodles are bigger in proportions compared to Pho Haoi but still not that much compared to the city ones. The waiters and waitresses are pretty friendly. One thing though is they love to clean their tables with Windex while someone else is eating nearby… That is not cool!
I sometimes get their number 1, not too big in proportions, just served in a really large bowl. Everything tastes alright. The time last I was here I ordered the grilled chicken with rice vermicelli (no soup). There was a good amount of chicken and it tasted pretty good. It comes with some fish sauce that you can pour over the noodles.
I don't know why but I really like their tea, it has a special taste to it. They use the same tea for their iced milk tea as well which I sometimes get. However it can get very sweet at times. This places always has at least one open table anytime of the day, however it can get really packed and busy. A lot of people order take out as well.
There are two tvs inside so that can keep you occupied while waiting for your food if you have no one to talk to.
Had lunch 1-2p here 12/17/2015, utterly delicious. I've always gone to the nearby Pho Haoi which is very similar, so I focus on their comparison:
* this place has a much more diverse menu; it's not just longer but covers more categories of dishes & more combinations of familiar dishes/staples
* equally great food, just delicious, flavorful, obviously fresh, the basil & sprouts are key for showing off freshness
* dishes come out very quickly and tastiness & freshness are heavily dependent on this trait
* smaller interior but more decoration, lights, style; ultimately not that important, come for the food not the scenery
* equally good service, not surly at all, just right balance of attentiveness & overlording
We had the #17 (sprout salad over cold noodles with grilled pork chop) & #55 (pho noodles with grilled pork chop) and that pork is so so so good. Love it. There's a tv in the front centre often tuned to an international sports channel. Lots of foreigners eating here are no sign that is cooking is not authentic enough. Recommend.
