Picasso Pizza

“It's my temporary neighborhood pizza spot in Battery Park City (BPC).”

“Of course, I was just a tourist passing through and am no expert on pizza joints in NY but I like to think I know a good pizza when I taste one and this was good.”

“I had lunch there earlier in the week at their location and then dinner delivered on a rainy Sunday night–despite that and the WTC area challenges, it arrived early and delicious!”

  1. We were looking for a pizza place around the 9/11 Memorial and Picasso Pizzeria came up.  There is nothing special to write home about this place but it delivers on decent pizza and satiated our pizza cravings.

  2. Ordered a chicken parm from here the other day, and while the sandwich is huge, and the bread is seemingly a good quality semolina roll, the chicken is thin, too little, and drowned, and I mean to the point of being inedible, drowned in cheese. Way, way, way too much cheese on the sandwich.

  3. Located not to far from wall st and the WTC site, we stayed at the club quarters which advertised Picasso's and even offered to put the meal on your room and deliver it for a $2.50 sur charge.  Well when we called Picasso's they acted like they did not know about the arrangement than badgered us in how we were paying, finally after 5 minutes of convincing them we were patrons of the hotel they delivered after 30 minutes so major  points off for service.

When the pizza arrived we were pleasantly  surprised, it seems like you can get a good quality pizza anywhere in NYC as this place was 2 miles away from little Italy.  We got two slices of the pizza Margarita, a slice of the Neopolitan pizza and the Sicilian pizza, all were great.  You can tell fresh mozzarella was used along with fresh basil and tomatoes, it did remind me a little of what I had in Naples, Italy.  That being said, I am a more familiar with Chicago and the midwest chain pizza places and judging by the ratings New Yorkers really must know there pizza and the competition must be intense as judging by the reviews, but compared to what I get in the mid-west this place is a ten!!!!

  4. We stopped by here while exploring the city.  Glad we found this place. We were on a mission to have a true NY slice, NY bagel, and NY cheesecake on our trip.  This business offered up great pizza and allowed us to cross pizza off our list.  The slices were good and large.  Prices were cheap but the pizza was a tad greasy.  Not a deal breaker but just something we all noticed.  However, if pizza isn't your thing, they have lots of other pasta and antipasto dishes to choose from. Everything on the menu looked delicious.  We would definitely come back.

  5. this place is one of the better places around my work area because its cheap and the pizza is actually good, it don't taste like cardboard and they are not cheap on cheese, a slice is $2.80, they have a decent amount of seating and the people are nice so i would say 5 stars for an affordable place to eat, and a major plus is that its right next to a bike lane and close to the west side highway, so its definitely a bookmark on my bike route for a quick snack, i would not recommend this place over the weekend because i'm pretty sure its not busy at all and turnover is probably not good because it is in a business area and the offices are open but people don't work on weekends generally…

they have other speciality slices such as pepperoni, veggies etc.
also have pasta, subs, garlic knots, drinks etc.

  6. Decent enough pizza. They deliver to my job so that's really the only reason I would order from them, nothing to their food otherwise.

  7. Good slice of pizza

Paid about $3.5 for pepperoni slice, which unfortunately is the going rate these days. Lots of good, stretchy cheese and decent pepperoni…overall a good slice. I only go here when i have a craving for pizza and have to stay in the neighborhood.

Stay away from anything with two or more toppings or anything looking fancy, you will get sticker shock. Best is if you dont mind a plain cheese slice, but i cant do it.
