  1. Remember Nona's infamous dishes that made you look forward to Sunday dinner or even holidays? That's what I experienced here at Piccolo Sogno. This is a gem in this quiet neighborhood.

The owners Maurizo & Carolina are full of smiles. Being that it was my first time dining here they made it their business to introduce themselves to me. In my opinion that's what really separates a business apart from another business. A business that truly believes in customer service.

We were served fresh bread along with two pieces of pizza bread. The bread did not come with any butter which I found strange. I guess you'd have to request it if you really needed it. Our waiter Caesar was nice and obliged our requests.

We skipped appetizers we didn't need the extra calories. I ordered a Pinot Noir and placed my entree of the Chicken Parmigiana with Baked Ziti on the side. Healthy portions came out within 15 minutes. Mozzarella & fresh Black Pepper was added to my meal which made it all the more delicious.

If you're in the area be sure to stop by. You'll feel like you're dining at Nona's house with the family.

  2. As everyone mentioned, their Rustico pizza is really, really good.  I had it last week and had this huge craving for it over the weekend so I ordered delivery.

First, the pizza is really thin yet it didn't fall to pieces when you picked it up.  I mean, it has all that sauce, sausages, mushrooms, and bacon on top but the dough held together.  Secondly, it's just so tasty.  All the saltiness from the meats along with the mushrooms gives it a nice mix of flavors.  The sauce has that nice tangy flavor I love.

As for other dishes, I tried their baked clams and it's a pass.  When I got delivered, the crumbs were all mushy and there was no crisp factor.  Also, the taste was just okay – nothing wowed me about this dish.

Lastly, the last time, I ordered the penne with pancetta, onions in vodka sauce.  It was pretty good but a bit on the oily side.  Just needed to ease up on the oiliness and it would have been a 5 out of 5 but I'd give it a 4.

A nice place to get delivery from.  They're prompt, professional, and follow directions to the T.  I'm curious to visit their actual restaurant and will make plans to go.  I'm sure the food will taste better at the restaurant since it'll come right from the oven, onto a plate, and into my tummy.

  3. We got a pizza delivered from here. 45 Minutes and it was just down the block so it was delivered hot with the cheese still really melted. The pizza was really good, but a tad to salty, but seriously can't complain. We also got a white personal size pizza and that was really good as well.

  4. Really cute outdoor seating. Perfect in the summer. Nice service. Accommodating and friendly. Shared pizza trecolore (pizza with sauce, fresh mozzarella, arugula and prosciutto. Very good. Then shrimp parm. Just what u think and perfectly good with spaghetti on the side. Hubby had chicken piccolo sogno in a light brown sauce with mustard and rosemary. Yummy. With roasted and potatoes and broccoli on the side. Lemoncello dessert and cappuccino. Two glasses of house montepulciano. Would definitely be a regular if we lived right here.

  5. I took a trip into Flushing, Queens for my friend to get an estimate for some bodywork on his car, with that done, we had empty stomachs in the middle of the afternoon, so with a phone call and a recommendation we ended up at Piccolo Sogno. I don't know Carmine, but if I meet him I'm going to thank him for suggesting this place. As soon as we walked in I saw the pizza at the counter and knew lunch would be good.
We wanted to sit down to eat. We were directed to a table and handed menus. We ordered a bottle of wine, my friend went with the Linguine in clam sauce, and I ordered off the lunch menu. A chicken dish who's name I forget, but it consisted of red sauce, some pesto, mozzarella and roasted potatoes.
While we were waiting for our dishes, the chef came out of the kitchen. As he walked by the table he said hello and let us know our food was on the way. Is there better service than that?
The food did arrive shortly after, and it looked as good as the pizza I saw in the front. Then we ate. Everything was perfect. I just wish I lived closer. I want to try the pizza and some more entrees. If lunch was this good, dinner must be great.
