One of the few healthy option places uptown that delivers.
I order take out from here often and unfortunately the service is very inconsistent. Although I order online, a lot of the time they mess up stuff. Often they forget to put a straw with a smoothie (what, I'm supposed to gulp down all that gree juice?).
The most frustrating part is that they won't add toppings I requested on my salad and still charge me for it! I understand if you run out of stuff, but I shouldn't have to call you everytime to correct the charge.
if you can, go down there to get your food, even though they offer delivery. I was hoping they would work out the kinks eventually, but service is what keeps this place at 3 stars.
Got delivery from here last night and it was pretty good. Got the green shrimp pasta and felt really good about it.
If you're up in waHi and need a place with good options for healthy eating this is the place to get it from. They have a lot of options.
Delivery was also fast and ahead of time.
Love this spot!
Groupon made this all possible for me: I purchased the 3 vouchers for $1O values. And the rest was history.
Place is clean, never packed, great sit-down area, menu choices are impressive, the one chef I usually see works quickly, and food has always tasted fresh.
1st time: I had the Tex Mex salad. Packed with every Spanish-inspired ingredient: black beans, corn, guacamole etc, this salad was probably the best salad I ever had. Maybe not the healthiest especially since the portions were seriously good for two. Greedy as I was I only shared with me, myself and I.
2nd time: I had the breakfast wrap Bk2: 2 egg whites, ham, low-salt bacon, peppers/onions. They had the option to place it in whole wheat wrap. Very flavorful, portion remains generous with a side of I think salsa chips? I forgot since the wrap indulged my palates I was oblivious to anything else going on.
3rd time: will be next week. I usually have to study the menu before getting there since there's a lot to choose from like pan inis, pastas, burgers, and quesidallas.
With or without a group on place is worth it. I usually trek ten blocks from school to eat here and I've recommended this place to all my colleagues. Can't believe a place like this exists in Washington Heights!
Ehhhhh I really have mixed emotions about Pick & Eat. At one point, they were always my first choice, then thy started slipping with consistency and quality. Seems they're getting their groove back.
Some of my favorites… Meatball power lunch (the cucumber salad it comes with is soo good), almost all of the salads, the Cuban (I get as a wrap), the burger, and… the FRUITHIES!! They are really really good. I come out of my way to get these any time of day. And I love that they have chia seeds.
Delivery takes awhile for me, being 14 blocks away. They do a good job at wrapping all of the containers and beverages, so I've never had any accidents or spillage by the time my food does come to me.
Eating in is nice too, they do have a bar with wine and beer. It's nice to have a healthy food option in the Heights, but one hit or miss dish with a beverage can easily be $20.
I eat and order from here somewhat frequently and I'm a huge fan, as is my girlfriend. There are a lot of healthy options and the service is pretty good.
Their is a good happy hour where you can get a meal and a drink for like $7, and there's even a small bar in the back to sit at.
Sometimes I just stop in for a juice, especially after the gym. They're always fresh and nutritious.
One time I had a missing juice on my Seamless order. Next time I popped in, I mentioned the missing item and they promptly made me one then and there. No harm no foul and great customer service.
A nice little place in the Heights.
I really like the food here, but the prices are ridic for this neighborhood. Especially the delivery. The minimum is way to high. Get that together and I would definitely give it four stars.
The food so far has been good. I really enjoy the salad with chicken, cranberries, chickpeas, and coconut dressing. The smoothies are pretty good too! I wish the panini came with chips or something because 8$ for a sandwich with no side is a bit weird.
This is an update since I'm moving out of the neighborhood. This place has been like my second kitchen. Reliable for breakfast lunch and dinner. I've been treated with nothing but the utmost customer service. It is beautiful to see a minority owned and run business that is held to soho style standards. With the attention to service friendliness and cleanliness. There has never been a time that I've questioned the integrity of this business. My favorite meals include the green shrimp pasta, coco cranberry salad, chimi chicken panini, penne vodka and the plain pizza.
Bon Apetite
I'm honestly surprised that there aren't more good food options around this area, but I was happy to find this place. I've visited here with coworkers on numerous occasions and was definitely content with the food quality and the service.
I'd recommend heading towards the back for seating – it's hard to enjoy your meal when the door keeps opening and people are standing in line, but in the back it's a little quieter. It's a good ambiance although it seems like more of a takeout place.
I've had both a classic tomato, mozzarella, pesto, and turkey panini and the Pick and Eat wrap, and I recommend both. The plantains are absolutely PERFECT in the wrap, and it definitely fills you up. The crackers they give you on the side of the sandwiches are a little weird – they kind of taste like cardboard, and it's just surprising because you'd expect so much better from a place like this. They also give you 3 random condiments on the side, which is guess is good if you like dipping your sandwich in 3 random condiments.
