This is a great location with decent size seating and has outdoor seating during the summer which is really nice. I've come here multiple times for lunch and dinner. For appetizers I've had the tuna pizza, Peking duck sliders, dumplings and rock shrimp. All the appetizers excellent. I have also tried their hot sake which I was a fan of. As for sushi I've tried the 30th avenue roll,Hercules roll, dragon roll and a couple of others and I think their sushi is mediocre. The fried ice cream is really good.. I would give it a 3.5 star if I could. I intend on trying their hot food next time.
The tofu teriyaki was disgusting! They use soft tofu, roll it in a batter and deep fry it. The consistency is so mushy in your mouth that I ended up throwing it out! I mean YUCK! The veggies it came with I ended up picking at, and eventually tossing! They received two stars because the veggie roll was the best part of the meal. No thanks place…I won't be back!
I've been here so many times I'm shocked I've never written a review!
Pink nori is my favorite sushi place in the 30th ave/Broadway area and possibly my fave sushi spot in Astoria.
Sushi is really good. They have a lot of creative special rolls, generous amounts of fish in all rolls and the rolls are fresh and flavorful.
The service is great. Super friendly and attentive service consistently.
The ambiance is really nice too. Cool lighting and nice music — a great date night spot. They also have TVs by the bar if you're looking to keep up with a sports game while you're out.
They have a nice selections of house cocktails as well, staring at $8.
BEST ROCK SHRIMP I've had thus far in my life. The restaurant is clean & brightly lit up. The service was quick, attentive, friendly & efficient. Our food came out within minutes. Right as I finished with my food someone was there taking the dirty dishes away & making room for more food to come. Edamame is always a must for me & there's was good (simple dish but always necessary). We ordered a Rock Shrimp & it was soo good when the waiter came back we asked for 2 more orders haha. We also had the Spring Rolls which were good but let them cool for a little while (I burned my mouth eating them too quickly). Also had 2 special rolls: Godzilla & 30th Ave = both were delicious & I wanted more. Tried the Fried Chicken roll & it was gross, stick to fish when eating sushi. Another thing I favor about sushi is when the bill comes it's always cheaper then you think. I will definitely return if I'm in the neighborhood.
My personal scale of sushi is as follows. "Holy epicurean!": mind-blowing fresh-fish; yummm: regular, delicious maki; and ew gross: grocery store. Pink Nori falls in the yummm category. Their delicious sushi is affordable, fresh and highly edible. I usually pick up or get delivery, but don't miss out on the excellent in-house service. The spicy tuna roll is better than most. Aside from the tuna roll, no menu item stands out as above-and-beyond, but do keep in mind that I do not have the most sophisticated sushi palate. Though not worth a trek, it's certainly worth the money.
One word: Meh! I tried this place because my friend always comes here. I wasn't impressed at all. The ambiance is nice. Good for a girls night out or even a date. But let's talk about what really counts. The Food and drinks. I ordered the sexy pink roll and my usual…spicy tuna roll. I was delighted to see their rolls are much larger than most places. So that looked promising. You get larger rolls (quantity) but the quality (taste) just falls flat. I frequent watawa down the block. Go there and taste the difference. Now that's tasty sushi! Pink Nori got nothing on them. I also was very surprised that their drinks just sucked. I ordered lychee martinis. 2 of them. Both times they were just weird tasting. The mixology was just not there. They need to check their measurements. One of my favorite drinks are lychee martinis. So I wasn't impressed. Also ordered the seafood pizza. That was about the only tasty and flavorful item that I can commend them for. It was fresh and very good varied mix of veggies and seafood.
Came here for a double date on a Thursday night. It's cool eating outside, but the street noise could get annoying. When I got there around 6, the outdoor seating was empty so I grabbed a table of 4. By the time the rest of my party arrived, all seats were taken. Who knew a sushi place was this poppin' in Astoria?
Happy hour on drinks only is 4-7. Friends got $5 drinks. Even though I picked at everyone's dishes, I sadly don't remember what everyone else got lol – but I ordered the filet mignon tarts as my appetizer and the sexy pink lady roll for my entree. Everything was delicious. Service was not bad. I recommend.
I have eaten at pink nori a couple of times now and while the food is good here I wouldn't say it is impressive.. Ive ordered the 30th ave roll, birds nest, and lovers roll.. Ive also had their peking duck sliders and sushi pizza and I feel that their appetizers are better than their rolls.. The food tastes better at the restaurant than when delivered.. Their staff is great and the deliveries are usually quick
