I ordered the Chicken Platter to go and absolutely regret it. The chicken was dry, tomatoes were old, and there were boiled carrots thrown into the mix. The pita bread was straight out of the bag and not grilled or warmed up at all. The word pita shouldn't even be the name of this restaurant. This has been by far the worst platter I have had.
The other reviewers are right. Pita grill needs to step up it's game, lose the dry pitas and hire a new chef.
Things I order and am somewhat satisfied with:
– Grilled chicken pita
– Cesar salad pita
– Rice bowl
– Grilled vegetable appetizer
I find prices reasonable, but the food is ok, sauces are blah, And it all leaves me feeling……. Meh.
Meh.
I decided to try this place when I found it on Groupon. It was for a Falafel Pita and a soda for $1.00 – well, I couldn't resist a $1.00 meal. This place is easy to find, VERY small inside and quite warm – a little too warm for my taste but the food was good. I wish the falafel pita had some kind of sauce in it because without it, it's a tad dry but still very good. The service was great, everyone was very friendly. I'd definitely come back to try some other items.
This place suck suck sucks. Worst hummus ever. Dry, mealy, not flavorful. Gross. The pita was crummy, too. Just don't go.
I am not a fan of this place. It is supposed to be a health food joint, but I'd rather go spend $10 on a salad at Just Salad or something.
Santa Fe Chicken Rice Bowl – tasted like a wannabe chipotle chicken rice bowl. spend your money on chipotle instead. I expected more.
Blueberry Blast Smoothie – pretty good since I was in the mood for a smoothie although I think I'll just stick to Jamba Juice since this still cost me $5.99.
Lamb Gyro Platter wth tahini sauce + hummus – I liked this dish. The lamb was good and the tahini sauce and hummus complimented it well. It was $13.25 so it was pricey. I doubt I will be back for this unless it's free.
I don't know why this place has such a low rating on Yelp. I catered from Pita Grill for an office event, and really liked the food! For a group of ~20, we ordered the Appetizer Platter, assorted pita sandwiches, Santa Fe brown rice bowls, and goat cheese salad.
The appetizer platter included different greens, dips, and salad. This was probably the least impressive of all the dishes – small portion and not a whole lot of variety. The assorted pita sandwiches sadly only included two options – falafel and grilled chicken – but both were tasty. The pita is stuffed with generous serving of protein, as well as chopped tomatoes, lettuce, and tzatziki sauce. The brown rice bowls is also a good bang for your money. You get a pretty big bowl of brown rice mixed in with chicken, black beans, arugula, and tomatoes. Nothing too special, to be honest, but all the flavors are in there. Finally, my favorite was the goat cheese salad. It's topped with grilled pita rubbed with generous amount of goat cheese and sweet onions. So yummy!
I was looking for lunch for the next day and stopped at the Pita Grill. I got the pita grilled sandwich wrap with grilled chicken to go-this comes with grilled chicken and basil rubbed eggplant, mesclun greens, sun dried cranberries, feta cheese with a lite roasted red pepper vinaigrette. I ate it the next day for lunch and it was delicious. The staff was pleasant, the prices reasonable and if you want to eat it, there are tables to sit down. I would recommend and return and they offer brown bag lunch specials for $9.95 with French fries or salad and soda or bottled water.
I just ordered delivery from here thinking that with prices like these, the food and service would be great. Wrong. My lamb gyro and falafel didn't arrive until 40 minutes after the "estimated delivery time", and for some reason the delivery guy didn't have the apartment number and had to call to ask…then kept me waiting 10 minutes after the doorman buzzed before he made it upstairs. Then lo and behold, they messed up my order and the food isn't even that good. The lamb is dry and tough, the falafel (which costs extra) is tiny and bland, and there's no sauce like there's supposed to be. Never ordering from here again, and certainly never going there in person.
