Pizza Boy is great. I've been eating here for a long time but what REALLY bothers me is that when I order my regular slice of mushroom pizza and I see them make it, they just take some mushrooms out of the fridge with their hands and just place it on the pizza like that, after touching money, etc. Really nasty but I don't know why my pizza is still good though. I honestly don't think the pizza is as great as it was back then. I remember back then, the cheese would be stringy on the pizza..now there's barely any. 🙁 but customer service is still pretty cool though.
well i was hungry and this place was next to a 7-eleven i was at. The pizza was ok but i had better. I didn't care for their garlic knots. Just too greasy. I would not come back for the food. I would come to just watch the guy who took my order. He is the real life example of the term "sense of urgency" he was really fast.
Been in Woodside several years, but really never had the urge to get pizza here until recently. It may be due to the more modern/inviting exterior and interior after they renovated (no thanks to a school bus crashing into it back in December).
The pizza here seems very standard, but standard where it gets the job one in fulfilling your pizza craving. It may be on par with Woodside Pizza and I'd say better than Peppino's Pizza. They offer a $5 deal for 2 slices and a small fountain drink. The sauce is standard, not bad, not the greatest ever, but its covered decently with ample cheese and the individual slices are HUGE. The garlic knots are larger and more doughy than average compared to surrounding pizzerias and seem to be everyone's favorite side order.
Overall everything was speedy and this place is serviceable for my pizza needs. Plus it also helps they have a website to scout out their menu also. Until my next visit to try out some of their other items.
I've been going here for over a decade. In my opinion, this is the best pizza you can get in Woodside. The pizza is actually very flavorful and the cheese has a good aroma, thickness and flavor to it. There is ample sauce within as well.
In the past, it was a very, very good deal when you could get two cheese slices and a drink here for $3.50. The price has been gradually raised and now it's $5.00 for the same deal. With all the $5 foot long subs, value menu fast food sandwiches, and explosion of dollar pizza slice places, the price is nothing special now.
Pizza Boy is a few blocks from the 61st Street, 7 Train stop in Woodside right under the elevated tracks. It provides ample seating and has all the elements of a traditional gas oven New York-style thin-crust Neopolitan pizza. As with most pizza shops they offer a $5 for two slices pizza with a cup soda deal. I asked the guy behind the counter if I could get a canned soda instead but he said it would be $2 more.
Anyhow, the pizza here is decent. It's thin crust and floppy when you try to fold and hold it with a single hand. The cheese was standard as well as the sauce. I would have liked the sauce to have bit more flavor as it was mainly all tomato, not much else, buy hey, some may like it that way. The crust was decent was not burned or too hard.
There's plenty of seating at Pizza Boy and I saw many families come here with their kids. Pizza boy offers delivery and has a decent sized menu. All in all, it's pretty good for a neighborhood pizzeria. I will come here again to try some other items!
THE BEST PIZZA IN QUEENS!!! I grew up on it. The taste, the nostalgia, the people, I love this place. The people are always nice, whether go in, or get delivery. The pizza is always delivered hot. The calzones, rolls, and garlic knots are yummy! I just love the plain slice, I'm a no frills type of girl. The Sicilian is good too! Their sauce is tangy and sweet, just how it was since the first time we had it over 22 years ago. I will be bringing my kids and grandkids here. Its my favorite!
'Hey dude, there's a cockroach in the parmesan shaker.'
Counter dude flicks the roach out but leaves the 'cheese' in.
Hmmm.
'I think I'll pass on that slice.'
My neighbor defends the place, so I'll give a star just for her.
