Nice location. Everything looks new. Service was pretty quick even though they were busy. Friendly service. Good selection of pizza, wraps and heroes.
Had their chicken parmigiana hero. Bread was nice and crispy and not soggy. Had a generous amount of chicken. It was not dry. Had a perfect amount of cheese and sauce.
Better than your average corner pizza shop. Looking forward to trying their other stuff on the menu.
** 3.5 stars **
New pizza joint opened on the highly visible corner of Bay Parkway and 65th Street, still pending posting their full menu but they have pizza and calzones.
Attractive, red-hued space with window bar-style seating and an elevated dining area, contemporary mosaic accents. Traditional order counter, pizzas on display behind glass. The igloo-like ovens are not traditionally looking nor obviously brick. Distinct cartoon logo and goofy name somewhat mismatched with the place.
We ordered a pie topped with fresh mozzarella, basil, and tomatoes. Fifteen minutes later, we got the fresh pie and toted it down the block to try. Thin-crust, texture reminds me a bit of cornmeal but it isn't, just enough toppings to accent, good taste. Would prefer crispier crust.
A solid pizza, and better than everything else in the neighborhood, besides Spumoni and haven't tried Europa's version. Not destination good, but an excellent addition to the neighborhood. Will update when they roll out the rest of their menu and have some time to warm up.
I love a good decent Brooklyn pizza, however, Pizza Daddy didn't do it for me. I still think Di Fara's has the best pizza in the borough of Brooklyn. I heard L&B Spumoni is great too, but I haven't eaten there so I can't agree yet (until I try it).
Pizza Daddy markets their pizzas as "brick oven", but I really did not taste the "brick oven" flavor. I was very disappointed. If you want brick oven pizzas, travel to Manhattan and visit Adrienne's Pizza Bar (that is the epitome of what a brick oven pizza should be).
I understand that it is a recession, and businesses have to be a bit stingy. But don't be that stingy. The pizza did not have enough mozarella cheese and tomato sauce on it. Not to mention that the pizza bread itself was very thin, and not crunchy.
Although Pizza Daddy didn't excite my tastebuds, it is way better than Torre's in the neighborhood.
I don't see why Pizza Daddy would get as little as two stars. I came here a week ago to grab some pizza and it was pretty darn good! Better than Torres a few blocks down. I had the grandma slice and it was fresh hot out the oven. I haven't been here enough to review too much about this place but basing on my review of the grandma slice, this place is a solid 4 stars. We'll see if it'll change after I come here a little bit more.
I do have to say though, the restaurant decor is beautiful. Most pizza restaurants are a little dingy and boring but Pizza Daddy took the time and effort to make this place look nice with an Italian ambiance to it. No complaints so far.
Grabbed pizza here one night durin a walk w the family. Tried the grandma slice and it was not impressive. Ive had better pizza from my corner pizzeria. The pizza wasnt warm enough, cheese was not melted, and crust wasnt crunchy.
In response to the comment below, i do not get nothin from Yelp except for email alerts for friend requests and msgs. I have somethin called a life, so when i do have down time, i do Yelp and hence, that is why i have an account. Instead of stating u guys will work on to improve ur pizza, u assume people get paid to review ur shop. Smh.
Ordered a large pie for $14, the cheese and sauce were not spread evenly and it was very very salty. They have spice packets if you need them. They have nice seating if you want to eat in.
*Crunchy crust.
*Tasty to the very last bite.
*they do not skimp out on tomato sauce.
*seating upstairs!
