Pizza Vita is probably the best of the gang (Doria's, Zappia's, etc..) for solid, tasty pizza in Summit. They don't do single slices, but their pies are LOVELY.
The Meatballs as a starter were delicious: hot, tasty and hearty sauce, paired with some nice Parmesan to sprinkle On the top.
As far as the pizza goes, the personal pies were spot-on. The Margherita is a classic, and done really well. Came out after five minutes, and it was crispy. A nice basil leaf garnish paired with tasty and flavorful cheese melted on the top gives you an authentic tasting pie.
Pizza- the Veggie Jackson was on point. Great crust, and the kale and Brussels sprouts added such a unique bitter/smoky flavor that I've never tasted with pizza.
Salad- the Katy Peary was really fresh, and I really enjoyed the vinaigrette.
Great pick-up service, and the food was nice and hot! I will definitely return!
All I can say is that I have had better pizza served to me in an airport and in a movie theatre. This place was utterly gross and it can join the ranks of all the crappy pizza in and around summit. I will not be returning here and I urge you not to go yourself. And avoid their coconut cream pie. It is like eating lard, and the piece I had was stale. I threw it away after one bite.
THE BEST FOR PIZZA AND BYO establishment by far. Keep an eye out for their pizza truck as well all around NJ!
We came here for lunch and lucky for us they were in the middle of Restaurant Week. Their RW special was 2 pies for the price of 1. Did the two of us really need two pies? No, but that didn't stop us. We ordered the Margherita and the Grandma (topped with meatballs).
The pizzas came out fairly quickly and looked great when they got to our table. They definitely resembled the pizzas you can get in Naples so I was very happy to see that. All of the ingredients tasted fresh and the ratio of sauce to cheese was spot on. I was a bit worried about how their meatballs would taste but no need to fear, they were great. We ended up leaving only two slices so that should give you some idea of how much we enjoyed them. The space itself is very nice and wasn't too full for a Friday lunch. I would definitely come back, Restaurant Week special or not.
Yum…our Tuesday night visit remained consistent. Split burrata salad and 2 pizzas. Very good Regina and melanzana…a new one for me. The latter had creamy rich fresh ricotta, caramelized onions, thin fried breaded eggplant, crushed tomatoes and mozzarella. Yum. Oops, I already said that. ..
As usual, service was excellent. ;)))
Word of caution. ..yes, I love crispy pizza. Note that the end of the crust is crispy, but as you eat the center part, one could describe it as soft or even soggy. If you don't enjoy that, this pizza is probably not for you.
Fast service. Delicious thin-crust pizzas. One pie serves one hungry adult, with no appetizers or salads. Not cheap, with 2 pies and 2 soft drinks plus tip coming in at about $45. I got a white pie that isn't on the menu shown here, so maybe the menu is seasonal? It was an heirloom tomato, white truffle oil pizza, mmmMMmmMmmM.
#CrustFail they served us undercooked pies. Four of 'em, raw dough still visible on the sides of every crust, unpleasantly soft, slimy and limp in the middle despite some notable char on the bottom, ouch. My teenager said it was like eating a donut. 🙁 I think the pizzaiolo who was working the oven the evening of Tues, 5 August needs a WHOLE LOT more training. So it was Not A-OK, it was meh in the end, argh.
Unbelievable that a wood-fired oven turned out these mushy pizzas, because buffalo mozzarella cheese this creamy, pepperoni this thin and yummy, meatball slices this juicy, cherry tomatoes this ripe, mushrooms this flavorful — in short, toppings this fine deserve 5-star pizza crust. The meat toppings truly are outstanding, none of those standard round pepperoni slices, these look sliced in house and were extraordinarily tasty.
Service? Friendly and working hard, A-OK. Oh except when we asked why the pizzas weren't quite done in the middle she sorta said "oh yeah…"
Noise level? Somewhere between loud and intolerable, speak up sonny I can't hear you.
Prices? About $15 for a personal pie, that's a little spendy but for a properly baked pie, well it's Summit, nobody cares about money. For an underdone pie that price is criminal.
Vegetarian rating: 4 stars because of the many veg pie and pasta choices, you can do very well here.
If you're not local, please note that parking in Summit can be a scr3aming b!tch so leave time for the hunt, bring money, etc., and just don't let it rattle your cage.
The buy-one get-one deal on Tuesday evenings brings the price well within reason. Did they undercook the pies because they knew everything was half off? Uh I hope not.
BYO. Foolishly I did not.
