  1. Conveniently located in Fort Lee, PJ sushi provided me the best sushi I could get at an excellent price. No tips are needed here, yet no water service either.

Everyday they had lunch special as well, around 9 dollars for a combo of spicy tuna roll plus shrimp sushi plus miso soup, good bargain! Their sushi roll was also of high quality with lots of fish meat inside.

  2. Went for Daily Lunch Special

Food – 5/5. The sushi here is delicious, large and has a great fish to rice ratio. It is a takeout sushi joint so you won't have delicate presentation here but the quality of the sushi makes up for it. One bit of warning is that some of their rolls might have different definitions compared to other sushi restaurants. For example, their Spicy Tuna Roll won't be a mash of tuna and spicy sauce in the roll, but a regular tuna avocado roll with spicy mayo on top. Salmon and Tuna are their main sellers so I recommend sticking to those.

Service – 4/5. There is no waiter service since its a takeout restaurant but sometimes if you are sitting down they bring the sushi to you. Very friendly couple!

Price – 5/5. $8.50 for a combo of eight salmon rolls, four tuna sushi and miso soup? The price can't be beat if you're in the mood for sushi during lunch time.

    Parking – Private Lot (Free)

  3. Great value, but the quality isn't high enough. I've never had sushi rice served so warm. Also, their namesake roll is very mediocre. The Spicy Salmon Crunch Roll was better. I ordered that in a special that came with 4 pieces of salmon and miso soup for $10, in addition to the PJ Special Roll.

The venue is humble (to say the least). The parking situation is a bit uncertain. And they don't have a fountain so all of the drinks are bottled. That wouldn't be so bad if there weren't expired beverages in the fridge. You order at a walk-up counter and they bring the food out to you. You throw away your own trash. Seriously I don't understand how this place has such high ratings. I'm bordering on 2 stars, but the cost was so low that I'll give them an additional star. Not terrible, but I won't be coming back.

  4. What a bunch of snobby whiners.

First, let me say that this is a NO FRILLS, neighborhood sushi joint. You wanna talk about the quality of the rice and how the fish was probably swimming a few hours ago before it died to be eaten by you? Spend the $ and bring your ass to a quality spot that will cater to your self proclaimed impeccable palate.

Now if you're looking for some cheap, fast, fresh (for the money) sushi, you're in the right place. Don't come here looking for ambiance either. I have never dined here, and frankly, I wouldn't want to. Its not dirty, but it def ain't a looker. I have never been disappointed by the food or service by the quaint Japanese couple that runs this place.

If they offered delivery, it'd be 5 stars!!

  5. Be forewarned: this is not a full service restaurant! Definitely more of a grab and go spot. My friends and I showed up with a bottle of wine assuming it was BYO, but dang they don't even have glasses to give you tap water!

With that being said, the prices are low and the rolls are nice and fat. I got an avocado roll and seaweed salad, for 7 bucks you can't beat it.

I don't usually order sushi to go, but if I'm ever in the mood to, now I know where to stop!

  6. So I did read some reviews of this place before coming in……lol definitely glad I did. Let's keep it simple, you aren't coming here to eat, you are coming here to get food and get out….unless you are in an altered state of mind with your homies.

I can't comment on service because the place is never packed and I'd  never sit here and eat. 😉
Cool thing is they do have parking in the back.

The sushi here is inexpensive. It cost less here for better quality sushi compared to trader joes lol, Hmart etc etc.
The best part is they will make the sushi how you like.

Ever have that problem where ya want brown rice instead of white rice? Well they can make any roll here for ya in Brown Rice. Lunch specials are great here. If I'm ever in the mood for sushi and not with friends then im definitely calling them up an ordering.

  7. Dirt cheap for decently fresh sushi. Deserves 4 stars, especially in light of my low expectations for togo sushi. We ordered two sushi sets togo and I have to say, it does kill the midday/lunch sushi craving. It's quick service but like another reviewer said, the miso soup ain't free- kind of ridiculous, but for the overall price of a meal, it can't be beat. If you're in fort lee and don't feel like driving down river road to get to mitsuwa, this might be a good alternative for sushi. It's also made to order on the spot, which is why I'd choose this over the shelf sushi in mitsuwa.

  8. Best sushi "fast food" bargain place around this area. Only reason why I say fast food is because it's not really a sit in restaurant. You order at the counter and pay at the counter and IF you want to stay and eat there are tables available. But it's not like a sit and serve place. Buttttt the quality for the price?! Not bad at all. Definitely recommend to anyone.

Tried multiple things on the menu. Most of them special rolls and all of them were amazing. Miso soup is good. The sashimi plate is good but the cut is too thick for me. It's like more than a half an inch thick. I definitely didn't enjoy that. But everything else was awesome.
