I had never known about this place until friends invited us out for some drinks. We went on a Saturday afternoon and it was fairly busy but not so much that it was bothersome. We got the Schofferhofer which was delicious and refreshing. The building the indoor seat is in looks amazing, I would love to have a party or gathering there. The outdoor area is adorned with trees and benched tables, nothing great but not bad. We weren't feeling very adventurous so we just got some chicken tenders and fries to munch on which were pretty good…but standard.
I definitely plan on trying this bier garten again!
Parking in back or valet in front. Cool back area with live music. I was surprised to see children there… Good beer selection and a nice vibe. I'll be back 🙂
Went here a couple of times to grab drinks with friends in the bier garden. Atmosphere is family friendly as I saw several families with younger kids enjoying themselves. Plenty of space and seating available inside and outside. On both occasions that I went here there was live music. There was a decent selection of about 10-15 German beers on tap including KB Dunkel, Spaten Oktoberfest and more. For those who don't like beer there was a light grapefruit beer that would be refreshing on a hot day. Beer was served in the appropriate glassware and soda was served in plastic cups, but you can request for soda to be put into any type of glassware if you want to fit in with the beer drinkers. Food was served fast food style and included bratwurst, hotdogs, chicken tenders, huge soft pretzel, schnitzel sandwich, and potato pancakes. Overall food was average. Recommend the bratwurst and pancakes. Service was good at both the bar and the food area. Parking is available on the premises or on the street.
It's a very entertaining environment. Even if beer isn't your thing you can grab food, listen to a band and people watch some interesting characters that stumble around.
The women's bathroom starts a line around 5:30pm so make sure you have a bladder the size of a pony.
The main bar serves only the "very popular" sliders. They're pretzel bun, a pork slice and bacon. I can't say this was really the creme de la creme I was hyped up for. It's kind of hard and bland. I think I could of took of shot of the honey mustard and been just as content…
A friend advised the hot dogs are a horror; so never order one of those.
I watched a bunch of people order burgers that looked like all bun from what I saw.
Besides the "food"; there's BEER!
I can't spell the name of their main draft so I won't try. They have multiple flavors. I tried the "HELL" I thought it would have a kick; naw it tasted like seltzer! Weak. And the clementine is recommended a try if you like drinking flowers. You'll see what I mean. It's not like grass tasting; it's perfume smell in your mouth. It's actually really good. I recommend it.
P.S. There can't be that many middle age 'single' women in this one area. So watch out… ;p
Hallo, alle miteinander! (I looked up how to translate "hello everyone" into German). Welcome to Plattduetsche Park, which takes you out of the U.S. and off to Germany. My first time here I had had dinner with some friends, and after, we headed over to the beer garden. Yesterday, I went into the nether regions of Plattduetsche, which unbeknownst to me holds many catering rooms of various sizes. I was attending a surprise party for a coworker who had overcame an illness, and Plattduetsche really did an excellent job in making everyone feel welcome. The staff was fun and friendly at the start, and then kind and welcoming in providing the food and drink portions of the afternoon. Food was set up with a cocktail-esque hour to start with a plate of mini potato pancakes, meatballs, pigs in a blanket, and chicken pieces going around via server, as well as a table full of sliced meats, cheese-stuffed olives, grilled vegetables, mozzarella and tomato, cubes of cheese, sweet peppers, and a few other tasty items. Everything was delectable in flavor and nice presentation. For the main course, they set up four stations of a lasagna-type pasta dish, pasta with garlic and vegetables, carved meat, and sautéed seafood. I hit up 3/4 of these options with the pastas tasting fresh and well-mixed with their ingredients, and the cut of carved beef showing real mouthwatering and tender flavor. There was cake and little pastries for dessert, but I was stuffed at that point. One thing I don't want to forget to mention is probably the most important part of Plattduetsche: beer! They began by only having Bud and Bud Lite (I thought maybe I was in the Twilight Zone version of this place), but we quickly asked about more German type beers and they greeted us with plenty of pitchers (as well as some awesome glassware) of the good stuff. I had a bit of the dunkel (a darker and robust beer) which was awesome. Overall, this was a great celebration and I would come back for another party, for dinner, or just to hang out in the beer garden. Prost!
Plattdeutsch Park is one of the greatest German restaurants I've been to. My sister picked me up and took me there last night. We started off with the little Bavarians which were absolutely to die for, I'm still drooling right now. OMG. We also had the German noodle appetizer with bacon, unreal as well. We were so full from the appetizers that we split a dinner. We ordered the fried veal cutlet with the lingonberry sauce. The veal had a coating that was so light and crispy, while the veal was so tender inside. Our server was Melanie who is absolutely phenomenal. She made so many recommendations that were right on the money, she definitely made our experience a most memorable one. Thanks Melanie. Plattdeutsch, you definitely rock, can't wait to go back and try some of their other dishes. Thank You
On a beautiful day with the doors open and music playing, not even the ginormous yet still overpriced 9 dollar pretzel could spoil my mood.
We always park down Reinken Street and appreciate the friendly staff and ample space.
1. Kind of difficult to find. Thankfully we were meeting friends who were already there so we knew to walk behind the catering hall in front and go through a side entrance by the parking lot.
2. Food was 'meh' at best. The spaetzle was bland, the schnitzel a little overcooked, but the pickled onions were pretty good. The burger was messy and the mini sliders, while good, still left something to be desired.
3. Beer selection is decent, however it would be really nice if they didn't rush patrons out at last call. Doesn't make for a nice experience when you're mid convo, mid sip, and they start screaming at you to leave in 10 minutes and then 8 minutes later you're all but punted out the door. Not that hospitable.
