So this cafeteria has been taken over by new food management company about a month ago. They repainted Fixed the lighting so its nice and bright! Heard its a lot cleaner! The Food has been better but prices have gone up. Everything is by the pound. They have a fresh salad bar and Sushi. They have more variety with hot food. They even handle food service for in patients and although more variety patients are not getting what they ordered and portions are super small. Hope they get their act together soon.
Ok – it's a hospital cafeteria. So, I don't imagine most of the normal, non-visiting, non-working, non-patienting public to wander here for a meal on the town.
That being said, this place throws down a decent lunch on the cheapy cheap. As an employee I get a huge sandwich (the tuna is delicious) with all the fillings I want for $4.75 – something that costs an easy $7+ in the outsideland. Good soup, decent hot food, and a self serve soft serve ice cream thing for those hot days.
If you work here (or are visiting) don't let that common "ugh, hospital food" attitude follow you here. Good, fresh stuff, seriously reasonable prices.
I sit in the atrium because I found the cafeteria seating section is not very desirable. Always looks like it needs to be cleaned. 🙁 Food is decent and reasonably priced. If you go at peak times the lines are long. Your food gets cold while you wait to check out. Wide variety of selections. I can have a varied diet. Not all pizza. They have Sushi, fried chicken and other choices. It depends on the day if the week. The menu varies.
