  1. Eh. Excited about the concept of 'Latin chicken', I popped in here a few times. Don't expect any upgrade from a typical fast food joint when you walk inside. It's the usual counter order and booth seating you find everywhere else. For what it's worth, the chicken happens to be pretty good here. The sides are decent too. However, they make you wait for a bit before you get your food, which ruins the 'fast' part in fast food. The prices are higher than other local spots as well. In Glen Cove, there are plenty of deli's you can walk into and get some good chicken and sides for less. If you're totally in-between traditional fast-food and a sit down dinner, you can do worse than coming here. Get a chicken meal and be on your way!

Will I be back? Probably not.

    Overall:
Decent little fast foody Latin chicken place.

    Service:
Patiently explained their menu, and made recommendations.  Was very helpful.

    Food:
It was a little better than KFC, a little worse than Boston market.

    ATmosphere:
It's set up like a fast food place.

    Value:
It's a fast food place.  A little more expensive than your typical FF place, though.

    Will I be back?
Probably not. Food was ok, not that good.  Menu didn't have enough intrigue for me to go back and try new things.

  3. First time having Latin-inspired cuisine – and that too from a fast food chain.  I had heard good things about this chain of restaurants, so when this location opened up in Glen Cove I had to try it out.

I decided to try the fried chicken with side of fries (nothing too radical on this first trip).  The chicken was tasty and not dry at all.  Flavorful definitely.  The fries were OK.  My order came with tortilla – not sure what I was to eat it with.  I opted to have a Guava fountain juice (again a first for me) which was not too sweet – it definitely quenched my thirst.

Definitely better than what the Colonel serves up these days.  Would definitely go back when in mood for fried chicken or to try other items on their menu.

  4. Earlier this year I was confirmed for a Yelp event here but it ended up getting canceled. I was in the area and my curiosity got the best of me. I walked in at 1130 and the place was completely deserted. The Camperitos are small comparable to chicken nuggets, some of the pieces were even smaller than nuggets. The tortillas served in a plastic bag are very unappetizing go for the dinner roll when given the option. The fries are mcdonaldesque in texture and size minus the flavor. Three salt packets in and they finally started to taste good, at least they were crisp unlike that soggy tortilla. Their cilantro lime sauce is good. The Raspberry ice tea from fountain tastes weird. I dumped it and went back for a Pepsi. Their empanada shell tastes more like tortilla than dough based. I got the buffalo one and the filling was good but again it was tiny just like the chicken. The flavor of the chicken is quite good and can stand on it's own without the sauce. The place is clean but the vibe is strange. The girl at the counter was nice but it felt like she was repeating phrases from her employee handbook. She was trying her best to be professional. My ears are bleeding from the Spanglish rap and reggae remixes though. Overall the place is kind of cookie cutter, along the lines of a Peruvian version of KFC. Total with tax and drink $9.20 and I'm still hungry. The best thing about this place is that their chicken breading has a good flavor and that they bring the food to you after you are seated but for the value and portions it's not worth it.
