  1. When I first moved in this area, this would be the place my husband and I go to at least 2x a week for their delicious Colombian Food! I love how they make their rice here and was introduced to a new way of making it at home too (olive oil and salt). Their chicken used to be pretty tasty and flavorful as well.

However, after discovering some other spots in the area and being able to compare the quality of the food and the price, my visits here and gone down. Also, their Chicken isn't as juicy as it used to be anymore and feel like it's loaded with salt. Their also pretty stingy with giving you extra green sauce!

Though one thing that I do love about here is that it's open till 6am and they also have a location another location nearby that's open 24/7. Super convenient a late night dinner spot!

Overall, if my other favorite spots were closed, this would probably be the my next option. If you're out late and can't find a spot to try, stop by here!

  2. Any Colombian joint with "Mario" in it basically has the same setup across the tri-state. Enough food to put you in a coma, very affordable, and fast service. Hard to complain about any of those. You can easily share one bandeja with someone else and just double up on drinks.

  3. No. Just no.
First they brought out some pathetic, dead looking, day old bowl of salad. Then came my chicken soup…which was more like chicken bone soup with a hint of chicken. Then came my "typical Colombian" dish of an OK skirt steak, flavorless chicharron, flavorless dust cake (a.k.a. hockey puck sized corn meal pattie thing), a nice size sweet plantain (i'll give you that) and white rice with beans. I ate about 1/4 of the plate and left.
    Again I say, NO.

  4. My fellow coworkers & i had decided to try this place for lunch after our shift. We got inside & got seated. The menu's got handed to us right away. There's a lunch special in the menu & it was Friday so we ALL decided to have the grilled chicken w/ rice & beans.
The place was quite empty but our food took a good 35 mins to get to the table! Minus one star for that 🙁 its just grilled chicken. I asked for water because i was really thirsty and did not want to finish my drink before my meal got to me. The water tasted terrible! I could taste the sweetness of the drink that was in the cup before, the water was also a pinkish color, minus one star for that:(!
The service overall was great, our waitress was very nice and attentive. The food was so good too. Other than it taking long and the cup issue i was happy with the quality of the food and service. Might give this place another chance.

  5. The $23 whole chicken meal is amaze-balls.  Comes with a 2 liter coke, rice, whole chicken, salad and green plantains.

It literally feeds a family of.. 6.  It is also very tasty but the service is not that great aka the lady is not really friendly at all.

I still order from them but I have my husband go pick up the food.

  6. I came today to have my late Valentine's day dinner.  It was awesome.  I got the aguacatela steak platter, and needless to say it was massive.  My hubby had enough to split among the two of us.  It came with salad, avocado, corn cake, plaintain, and a huge steak on a grill.  For the beverages, I got the Maracuya (passion fruit) with milk, and it was just perfect.  Sweet and creamy.  I am happy to say that our waitress was super friendly and helpful.  When I visited around 7 pm tonight, it was quiet.  I would love to come back and try more steak dishes.

  7. The chicken here is amazing. The other grilled meats are good also but the chicken is to die for. I passed this place a million and one times while working retail in Jackson Heights and when I finally had the nerve to walk in and sit down for a meal I was upset that I had not done so many many moons ago. The service is okay here and the wait staff is usually friendly unless its packed and busy. Portion size is huge so be prepared to eat a lot or take home.

  8. My favorite pollos mario! This place is amazing. Great food and service. My favorite place to go to eat. Never had a bad experience. I love everything from the bandeja paisa to the bistec encellado. I love this place. Never a disappointment.
