This is a great little breakfast/lunch spot located right off the Bronx River Parkway. I came here for breakfast on my day off after hearing good things about it from friends and family.
The restaurant itself is small and narrow; I came on a Thursday morning and was seated right away but can imagine a long wait on the weekends. There are ~10 tables plus seating at the counter – the place was busy but I didn't feel cramped.
The menu has a number of breakfast items – omelettes, sandwiches, pancakes, waffles, etc. I decided on the broccoli and cheddar omelette which came with home fries and toast. The omelette was big and fluffy with a generous amount of broccoli and cheese. The home fries weren't necessary home fries, but rather sliced fried potatoes. I didn't mind though because they were tasty; it also made it easier to dip them in ketchup – no fork required!
One thing to note is for most beverages (including coffee) your first refill is free but then they charge for subsequent refills; it was kind of a turnoff – I mean really, what diner doesn't have bottomless coffee? This place is also cash only, so make sure you come prepared. There's no parking lot either – make sure to bring quarters for the meter!
Service was friendly, and if given the opportunity I would return.
One star off for the amount of noise this place has . That's the only downfall.
Sorry I have no pictures of my blueberry pancakes – which were not all that . Next time I'll get plain pancakes . We ordered that with a bowl of fruit and eggs on the side . Everything was good , not oily in any way. Reasonably priced . The staff was friendly and welcoming . I enjoyed the experience overall, we took a walk in the park after our meal. Nice experience on a Saturday rainy morning . Thank you!
