Porchetta

“The sandwich is great, the smell is intoxicating, and the burnt ends are mouth watering.”

“The meat is cooked to perfection, and what makes it best is the dry and hard pork skin!”

“But when you are fortunate enough to sink your teeth into an appropriately fatty piece of meat, it is quite heavenly.”

  1. I thought the classic pork sandwich was insanely delicious. My only complaint was that I got a half sandwich instead of a whole. The roll is nice and crusty and has perfect succulent pork and crispy bits as the filling. That's it. It doesn't need anything else because the Italian seasoning was enough. Its a bit greasy, but this is pork we are talking about. Perfect cure for a hangover. I would definitely try this again.
Very small place – seats 4-6 people at most. Clean with friendly service. Prices are a bit high for such small portions, but its not like you would eat this everyday, so it's fine.

  2. Let me start with the fact that I very rarely crave pork. However, with this place so close to where I live, I had to check them out (on a couple of occasions) to see what the famous sandwich was about. The sandwich is essentially bread and meat. Anything else added offers minimal effect to the porky sandwich. It's a tad on the salty side for me, but overall it's a fairly good sandwich and I can understand why folks swoon over it. I'm def looking forward to trying out one of their daily special sandwiches though!

  3. Location: actually, my first experience with Porchetta is at smorgasbord
Never had I ever got a chance to visit this real store, it didn't prevent me from getting great food here

Had their pork #bestseller sandwich! It was juicy and crispy.  The meat just keeps me from wanting to get another one. But the bun is too thick for me to enjoy.  I am not a bread person, but if you are , I dear you try it.  It's good, not typical sour dough

Very delicious but bit pricy for a small Hun with only a few meats inside. But still worth a try

    Four stars.

  4. I had the Porchetta sandwich delivered via DoorDash. First thing I notices is how incredibly tiny this $12 sandwich is. Next off the flavor was…okay? It could have used something else. The bread was quality and so was thew pork but…that's it?

There were also 2 bits in my sandwich that were so tough as to be totally inedible, I actually hurt my teeth on one of them.

Not going to get food from here again.

  5. I would totally give this place five stars if they expand their menu – I LOVE the pork sandwich here and really wish that they had more choices so that I could come back often.

Focusing the one and only choice here – crispy pork sanding – it is amazing! The meat is so fresh and perfectly season, making the sandwich just so simple and delicious…..

  6. Porchetta, rich in fantastic fat but will make a dent in your chedda. This sandwich is not for the lighthearted because it is HEAVY. Oil from the herb roasted pork will permeate throughout the bread and into your pores. When you bite into the skin, it crunches and captains your sandwich to new heights. However, at the current price point I expect a bigger meal… por favor.

  7. Love the greasy crispy pork that is always oozing with goodness. awesome pork goodness comes on a plate, with greens or in a sandwhich. I was totally eyeing someone who got the special with greens and an egg on top!  i got the bahn mi sandwhich and was not disappointed.  have to remember the hard bits are actually the overly crispy skin!  The problem is not sure why the service takes forever! be prepared to wait. not sure why that is since there are only like 4 seats around.  might be hard to sit for large parties for sure- get take out or come in and out solo or with a cheap date? (maybe not so so cheap but this is a joint kind of place..)

  8. After seeing Porchetta on Time Out's list of of cheap eats in NY, I was excited to try it. Unfortunstely, I was diasppointed.

The sandwich was okay: bread was cold, meat was flavorful but got cold after being inside the bread for so long; the sandwich just felt greasy. The best part was the crunchy bits but there wasn't nearly enough. I was disappointed that I spent  $12 on this sandwich.

The Cubano was a different story. The sandwich was cheaper ($10) and was warmer and filled larger. This sandwich was satisfying.
