There is nothing overly special about this place except it very close to my job and the food is pretty and cheap! Its a deli minus all the package goods.
They have a full menu of things but basically the guys will make whatever you want however you want!!
There is not that much seating space but I work so close that is no an issue for me.
Came here with a friend for some late night munchies. Solid place for some cheap food near Port Authority. Felt compelled to leave a nice review because the server was super accommodating even though it was like 2 AM in the morning. I'm also pretty sure he charged me less than advertised on the menu, which is always greatly appreciated.
Not sure why this place has gotten 4 stars. This place is, as its name suggests, very close to Port Authority, so there's that. The decor is kind of off putting and I didn't feel comfortable, both in the cleanliness and the seedy characters in the front. When I spied some police officers at the back, I felt better coming in.
It's sort of a typical-ish diner, with a grill, premade paninis, bagels, drinks, etc. There was a sign that said $1 extra for breakfast dishes after a certain time, which is lame. I ordered a tuna melt ($5.45); after the fact, I noticed that the sign said it should come with vegetables and sundried tomatoes…and be on homemade bread (not sure if the sign was old or not but didn't think it was worth it to ask). The sandwich was decent but definitely not homemade bread (though a step up from Wonder bread) and just regular tomatoes. It also came up with some chips and a sad-looking pickle. The prices aren't bad for the area.
I don't think I'll be clamoring to return to this place, since a door down was a hummus and pita place!
An updated review. May's bug problem is long solved, thank goodness! Their breakfast sandwiches are great, their pizza is the best you can get for a dollar, but the options are huge – salads to paninis to pasta and heros, there's really something for everyone. Some of it, I've really enjoyed, and some was just ok, but you really can't top their prices. Also, they deliver! They're open 24/7 (not sure that they always deliver though) so you can't really top that either.
Try out the cakes as well – beats cake boss up the road, for a third of the price and none of the crowd!
