My dear friend moved out of the Boogie Down this year, from renting to owning his own home in Jersey City. He invited me over this summer to enjoy the pool.
No sand? Check. No annoying kids? Check. No ugly people? *crickets chirping* Plenty of sun? Check.
With a late start, I needed to grab a bite to eat. I walk into Port Side and order two sandwiches. Time for a drink, so I walk over to the back. I notice Ommegang Three Philsophers, Kronenbourg 1664, Blue Point Brewing Company Blueberry Ale and many other oddities. What are these, you ignorant Heineken and Corona drinkers?
I'll take "Beer You Would Never Find In A Bodega" for 500, Alex.
I am not a beer snob, but I'm no idiot either. This place has an interesting collection of beer. I was so distracted, I didn't look at the wines.
I walked out with an egg salad sandwich and a turkey sandwich and enjoyed them both (wife had a couple of bites). It was nice to catch some sun at poolside. *sigh* I miss the summer.
There is no indoor seating but Port Side is clean and an upgrade from my usual fare.
