Went on a whim one Sat night while walking through the Village. Saw the place was crowded through the open folding french doors, which is a good sign. The menu looked good so we waited a few minutes for a table to clear in the small dining room. We were seated in the back at one of about 10 close together tables in this rustic Italian restaurant, very warm and inviting with brick walls, paintings and wine bottles lining it.
We decided to just do dinner. I went with Pappardelle Pollo,Crema e Funghi and my companion had ravioli. The pasta in mine was cooked al dente with chunks of chicken and mushroom, not overly soaked with a cream sauce that was rich and tasty, a nice portion. The ravioli was good according to him but the portion was somewhat skimpy, even for me, so certainly not enough for him. He also ordered the fried meatballs and was brought about 8-10 small meatballs that were good but just a tad overfried for my taste.
The meal and service were above average but not nearly enough for me to rush back.
Came here for a dinner outside to enjoy the nice weather. The tables are on a quiet street and facing an apartment complex. The service was good but a bit slow when it started getting busy(I think they kind of forgot about us) so we had to get up to ask for the check.
I had the mixed salad to start which had too many radish/onions for my liking. My bf got the pasta e fagoli soup which was ok.
For my entree I requested linguine with calamari. They had one order left so I got lucky! It was good, a little spicy but the sauce was good. Also, it looked like they just threw the pasta on the plate (no presentation). However, it did get very crowded at night so I suggest going early.
Went her on a whim because it looked nice from the outside. It's getting 5 stars because I really have nothing to complain about at all! The meals were decently portioned, the BEST was the portbello mushroom appetizer they were amazing I couldn't get enough! Everything from appetizer from dessert was good. The waitors were attentive and friendly. Overall a nice experience. We also went on a Friday night and surprisingly it wasn't packed!
The food here was ok. It's a little pricey compared to normal italian restaurants, but they do have a pretty wide selection. The wine is pretty cheap, though I'm not a connoisseur so I can't speak to how good it actually is, but it was enjoyable enough for me.
I was surprised it is NOT family style. Each person ordered their own dish and finished it. I am more used to italian places that have you share each dish. I had the meat ravioli, and it was pretty good. I also tried the chicken parm which was also ok. The chicken parm came with a small side plate of vegetables which I guess was nice. They weren't coated in butter or anything either, so I appreciated that. I can't say that anything really stood out at this place. Service was friendly though.
Came in for lunch today after wandering around. They have great lunch specials, just remind me to stop ordering sodas in nice restaurants that will cost twice as much than in a local convenient store or whatnot! My angel hair pasta with tomato and basil was awesome. Service was courteous. I'll try to be back.
Me and my friend randomly spotted this place and decided to give it a try. The interior is small and cozy, with lots of stuff on the walls and music playing in the background. When we first arrived every table but one was full so my aisle seat was getting brushed and bumped quite a bit but not enough to become an issue. They also have some seating outside.
I ordered the meat ravioli with shiitake mushrooms in a cream sauce. The dish was good, I'd order it again, but it didn't wow me. I prefer any kind of pasta with lots of sauce and this wasn't even saucy enough to be served in a bowl. And while the pasta was satisfying I think the best part of the dish were the mushrooms (they were just bursting with flavor). I tried my friends fried meatball appetizer and wasn't impressed, they were bland and needed to be drowned in the marinara sauce they came with. If you ask me, I just don't feel meatballs need to be fried in the first place.
Next time I would like to try some of their desserts. They bring out their whole selection on two trays they place at your table, I can't even tell you how much self control it took not to order anything.
Better than average Italian food. Our party of 4 came on a Friday night and easily got a table. The ambience inside is quiet and a nice change of pace from the surrounding areas. The caesar salad was good, but the not the best ever, Pesto Linguini was quite good and fresh , as was the Lobster Ravioli. My BF was not a fan of the cheesecake but I liked it. The Wine was lovely, as to be expected.
Came here with family from out of town- it's so cute and quaint and perfect off the beaten path place to take visitors. Servers were polite and brought us bread and water promptly after we sat down. The pasta was all homemade and really good. The portions look a little small but don't be fooled- it's plenty. The only weird thing, but maybe this is a NY thing, the chicken dishes don't come with pasta. So my husband had a dish of saucy pieces of chicken, and his only side was a couple pieces of roasted potato and some mixed veggies. It just wasn't right… But still tasty food overall, a little pricy.
