Pretty decent tasting sandwiches located in a nice and convenient location. Ideal to grab a quick lunch for folks working close by. Has enough seating for most times, but I suspect this place is packed during lunch hours.
Wish they had french fries on the side but they do make up with decent soups and chips.
Kind of expensive for a mediocre sandwich. The bread was nice and crusty and they give you a lot of meat, but not worth the price. The staff wasn't rude, but not friendly either.
– on par with the other potbelly locations
– removal of one star because they have one guy behind the counter who consistently hears "roast beef" when I order "wreck on regular," seriously. . . several times. . . they don't even sound alike. . .
– recommend: wreck on regular (w/ everything except mustard), broccoli cheddar soup
I'm updating my review because I've found I sometimes crave their sandwiches. And they try to make the line painless by taking your order in line and having a musician there for entertainment. Definitely a place I will keep in my rotation.
Glad to see a potbelly in NYC! I used to live in DC and really liked it but couldn't find it anywhere else.
I like to think of them as gourmet sandwiches but not too pricey. Around $7 for a regular sandwich – they toast the bread and it's crunchy on top but still kind of soft inside. I usually get the wreck aka basically an italian sandwich or I get the mushroom skinny (cheese and mushroom sandwich). I didn't see the skinny sandwich menu here but I did see the wreck. They make the sandwich, put it through the toaster, then ask you if you want condiments on it.
Fast, simple, easy if you're in a hurry and don't want unhealthy fast food! This one is located right near the empire state building on 34th and 5th ave.
It's unfortunate that I have to give this place 3 stars, but their tuna salad sandwich was just horrible. I ran in this little sub shop on a lunch break, and the menu and ordering style is very similar to Subway or something of the like. Their sandwiches are very well priced ($4-8). They had a few places to sit, but it seemed mostly like a take-out shop. The workers were all pretty friendly throughout the ordering process.
I ordered the tuna salad sandwich on whole grain bread. They didn't ask but went ahead and toasted it. The tuna salad was just dry and bland, very similar to something a cat would eat. Yuck! I couldn't even eat half of it. If it hadn't been for the halfway decent workers, this would get 2 stars…. how hard is it to make a freakin tuna sandwich?!
Two of the people behind the counter are rude and rush you while youre in line. Not that many options for vegetarians here. The Tuna melt was not bad, i wont lie. the tomato soup was pretty tasty too–it actually had chunks of veggies in it and decent flavour. Between the small cup and the half sandwhich and a bottle of water, i spent almost $13. Such a rip off for DECENT food. Nothing really made me go "damn i gotta come back".
I heard this place was really good so was eager to check it out. Sadly, I was disappointed. I got the grilled chicken and cheddar sandwich and topped it with lettuce, onion, and artichoke hearts. I thought this sounded like a decent combo, and while it didn't taste bad, it was very underwhelming. I felt like I was eating at Subway, only the food was more expensive. Maybe it depends on what you get here, but I was not impressed at all.
