  1. ((realized i posted this review at the wrong Columbia St deli. thank god for copy n paste! lol)

i stumbled in here post many hours of drinking post the Los Gigantes vs. Los Green Eggs n Ham Eagles (Week 17). Though the Giants lost–don't care bc I am a PATS fan, this bodega was a great place to get RALLY supplies for more drinking.

this bodega/deli is pretty much a classic example of the we-have-everything corner store. from booze to a deli counter to a grill/hot food area for made-to-orde eats to a whole gamut of household goods to random items…this spot has it all. the space is fairly large. fairly clean. not very well lit. it seems to be a neighborhood congregating spot for older Spanish gents as there were a bunch of dudes sitting in the place, chilling, and watching soccer. good times.

while my bestie/twin stood there and mocked everything with an acerbic wit and our pal Mike shopped around to find food items for beer-brats-n-more, i found an ancient pack of bodega cookies that retailed for $.75. let me tell after a copious amounts of Miller Lite that afternoon…these cookies were more clutch than a clutch in a car and tastier than baked goods coming outta Heaven's oven (wait does Heaven have ovens or is that more like Hell's kitchen appliance of choice. idk). these cookies were ageless, crunchy and sweet. were they once sugar cookies that shrivelled into crunchy toffee like cookies? we may never know until they perform an autopsy on me as i think these cookies are still travelling through me…three days post. hahaha. i kid…maybe.

the staff is chill. friendly. and dealt with our slightly sober selves with smoothly. thee folks here were cool. they also reminded me the cookies cost 75 cents as i paid with a fiver and forgot to take the change. honesty yo. it still exists.

so am i basing this review on a retail transaction of a magical pack of ancient cookies? pretty much. do i care? no. should you care? yes bc supporting local business is not only a good deed, but necessary to keep neighborhood flavor intact and flavorful. and besides those cookies were AMAZING…and killing me softly and crunchy.

drops mic bc it takes too hands to break these adamantium-like cookies! SNIKT!
    i out.
    zzzz

  2. Bigger than the deli across the street and decent beer selection. They have just about anything you'd need to throw a party, you just have to look hard enough. Sure, produce isn't the freshest, but if you're in a pinch, it'll do.
