OK more like 3.5…
First time here and I immediately like the clean lines and uncluttered decor. Hostess greets me warmly, and promptly seats me in a prime table.
Menu is expansive. First two pages dedicated to sushi, sashimi and all its glory, but I'm here for meat, so I bypass this altogether. My waiter quickly asks for my water preference, I tell him I'm ready to order and I get a big smile and a "atta girl" approval. He proceeds to tell me they are already out of the Duck pad Thai so a little disappointed but I get over it.
Rated from 1-5, 5 being yummerific (yes, it's my word so shut it)
To start:
They had 3 choices of rolls: baguette, onion roll and pretzel roll. I chose the onion and pretzel, both still warm and delicious with the tableside olive oil.
Rating: 3
Creamy mushroom soup: kissed with a bit of truffle oil, strangely light and hearty at the same time. I loved that there were actually chunks of mushrooms in the soup.
Rating: 4
Wagyu short ribs with chilled peanut dressing noodles: They looked like korean style marinated but were so not. The marinade lacked a little something…too heavy handed with the soy sauce so the beef flavor was masked completely, the noodles were clumpy and had no purpose accompanying the dish.
Rating: 2
Charcuterie platter of 3 meats choices: ordered the beef prosciutto, chorizo and lamb salami: prosciutto was crazy salty, the chorizo had a nice spicy kick to it as did the salami.
Rating: 4
Chicken and Waffles: I'm guessing the coating on the chicken was the waffle bit. This was one of my faves! Chicken was insanely moist and nicely seasoned and the batter around the chicken had a sweet crunchy bite. A perfectly executed dish.

Entrees:
Hanger Steak with chimmichuri sauce: So this dish was cooked to exactly how I asked for but came out ice cold. I flagged down my waiter, explained I was having a great meal but that the hanger was ice cold, without hesitation he apologized and took it back. A few minutes later he came back with my steak, a bit warmer but now overcooked. Why can't they get execution timing right for each course?! Regardless this steak was delicious. The chimmichuri gave the steak a nice flavor without overpowering the beefy flavor.

Braised short rib gnocchi: Again came out cold. There was so much wrong with this dish. First off the gnocchi were just hard gummy lumps of dough and then they were smothered in some wine sauce, but they neglected to reduce the sauce down enough that the whole dish tasted sour and rancid. The beef was very tender but couldn't get passed the overpowering taste of the cheap red wine they used for the sauce.
Rating: 1
Roasted Cauliflower: Not much to say here, can't really f'up cauliflower…just needed roughage to move things along. Nice char on them though.
Rating: 3
Dessert:
Apple Crisp with vanilla ice cream:
Very light pastry crust with soft crisp apple filing with a decent vanilla ice cream. This was warmer than my main dishes lo

As I said the timing for executing each course needs to be better but the service is top notch, the quality of the ingredients fresh and ambiance is very nice. I would do a client lunch more so than dinner here in the future.
Went here on a work lunch and really enjoyed it. Took a look over the menu before we went, and noticed that the prices were pretty high, but I didn't care as I wasn't paying. This place is pretty nice on the inside, and has the moniker of being one of the best kosher steakhouses. Smaller than I thought, and located in the courtyard area of the Sony building, the bar is tiny too. Looked like they had a great selection of alcohol, including high end liquors, beers, and wines. However, no one else got a drink so I couldn't order one.
I went for the edamame to start, which was pretty good. Nice sized portion. I almost went for sushi for my entree, but decided not to. The sushi menu looked pretty awesome though, as they had individual pieces of sushi as well as rolls and even platters. Another member of our group got the sushi platter and was unable to finish it, it was a lot of food, including a few sushi rolls and a bunch of pieces of sushi. I went for the peppered tuna steak cooked medium rare, and it came out great. Was not too heavy but was delicious. On the side was lettuce and a nice glaze. Wasn't a ton of food, which was what I wanted on a Monday lunch. Others at the table went for sushi, chicken, fish, and two got steak. Reviews were generally positive all the way around. No one got dessert, but we all had coffee. I had a great decaf cappuccino. Place is kosher, so they gave us soy milk. The service was pretty good, not too fast or slow and not overbearing or inattentive. They didn't mess up any orders or anything, and the only time we were left wondering was when they took a while to bring out the coffees.
This is not my favorite steakhouse by any means, but it's pretty darn good, and a great kosher option. Dress is business casual at a minimum, kind of fancy. Don't need to wear jacket and tie though. Remember, price is very high, go on an expense account, one of the steaks was $82.
