These guys just opened up and really know how to treat the locals. There's 3 guys that work here 24 hours, that's a plus…I guess. The daytime guy, let's call him Mr. Parrot, only knows 2 sentences in English. "Hey buddy, how's it going?" and "have a good one buddy". Alright, you know God damn well you are not my buddy so stop trying to be my fake friend. Just shut up and sell me milk quietly like everyone else. Now there are 2 guys that work the night shift, and that's because 11th and Willow is a known gang area and there are constant robberies. They also lock the door (buzz you in) and stalk you around the store while your browsing their fine selection of cereal and drain-o. Only 1 of the night guys apparently speaks any English and his catch phrase is – "so you need a bag?". No thanks BUDDY, I'll just carry all of this crap to my house by hand and make 5 trips so you can save 3 cents on your plastic bag. This place deserves 1 star and the day the zombie apocalypse hits I will barricade myself inside of it and survive for 100 months while you cowards eat each others brains. Until then, and unfortunately, you can't beat the convenience of a 24 hour bodega across the street from your house. You can however, easily put them out of business by opening your own bodega and selling everything for double price instead of triple. That is all.
Wow pretty harsh review below. What else can you really ask from a corner bodega?
The store itself is clean, bright, air conditioned, and hardly has anyone in it when you're there. It's like your own personal bodega for the 3 minutes that you go in there to get what you need.
The prices are also pretty close to super market prices, so don't hesitate to buy something here (if you're cost conscious).
Tip: If you're using your credit card, the minimum here is $5. If you buy under the minimum, they'll charge you $5 and give you the change. Also, if you need quarters for laundry, they will hook you up.
I don't think I've seen a Yelp listing for an ordinary convenience store with so many reviews!
This is the closest convenience store to where I live and every time I've come here, they've been extremely friendly. I come here to get my lottery tickets and use the ATM. I wish they sold beer but other than that, I don't know what else I would expect from a place like this.
