  1. I ordered them to cater a lunch. The owner is very friendly and will work with any budget. The food was wonderful the Penne a la Vodka, Eggplant Pharm and the garlic knots very fresh. They were also on time. I will use them more often.

  2. SO GOOD!!!  Tried them on a whim, and VERY glad I did!

A week of lunches were thoroughly enjoyed, and all reheated well.  Hearty portions, all!

Orecchiette alla Barese: perfect balance of protein, veg and carbs.  LOVED this one!  So fresh tasting!

Penne Bolognese: Subbed out linguine, as I requested.  Hit the spot perfectly!

Fettuccine Emiliane: smoky with the prosciutto.  Some sort of cream-based sauce.  Just enough in there.

Chicken Cordon Bleu: liked it, once I tried it.  Foudn it odd that they cut the chicken in half (looked like two whole pieces cut into four total pieces)…because then all the goodness seeped out!  But they slathered it in a mushroom bechamel….Wasn't happy at first sight…..then I ate it.  Divinge!  Hearty portion of spaghetti marinara on the side.

    I'll be ordering again!

  3. Ok I really don't understand all of the rave reviews for this place. It was just OK. Maybe we went on a bad night or too late in the day? We also only got the items in the case (garlic knots, a couple of types of pizza, and a few risotto balls) so maybe that's the problem?

The staff in this establishment are super friendly. They have both pre-made items as well as a menu of your typical Italian offerings. I wasn't overwhelmed by the selection but the prices were definitely reasonable. We were super hungry, so we just opted for the stuff that could be done quickly. Although they were pretty good, they lacked quite a bit of flavor.

The space was pretty small (about 10 tables) but even on a Thursday night, they weren't crowded. There was a decent selection of bottled beer and wine.

All in all, I think the moral of my review is just order something freshly made and reserve pre-made pizza for a great place in Manhattan.

  4. Looks more promising than it actually is.

I got a slice of pizza with chopped up breaded chicken cutlet and broccoli. It was okay. Really good friendly service. Grab a slice here only if you live nearby and are in a hurry. Better pizza is available a few blocks away.

  5. Chicken Parmagiana is my go to hero when I can't think of anything else to eat.  This is why I was so happy when I found Pronto.  Every other pizzeria I go this from in Astoria was OK, but never really did it for me.  Pronto on the other hand makes a mean chicken parm.  It comes stuffed and I mean stuffed with chicken.  I am always very satisfied when I finish this wonderful sandwich.  Thank you Pronto for fulfilling my chicken parm cravings.

Until last week I had only ordered take out through seamless.  I never really walk down that way so I had never been to or even seen Pronto. We happened to be walking by and decided to stop in for dinner.  I was pleasantly surprised.  Pronto has a really nice atmosphere to it.  It's so much nicer then any of the other pizzerias in the area.  They had a good mix of music playing giving it that nice and relaxed kind of atmosphere.

The waitstaff was very friendly and helpful.  I wanted a chicken roll, but I'm always a bit hesitant about the ones in the case.  I always question how long they have been sitting there.  They quickly volunteered to make me a fresh one.  We sat down and the food was brought out fairly quickly accompanied by some on the house garlic knots.  They really know how to make me happy.

This will now be my go to pizzeria in Astoria.

  6. It's a nice casual above average place where you can get quick delivery or eat there in a nice setting. The eggplant parmigiana hero was huge! Big slices of eggplant, lots of cheese and sauce and freshly made. The guys in there are really friendly and gave us some delicious garlic knots on the house.

It's really clean inside – more like a small restaurant than just a grab and go slice place. Cool music playing – from rock to reggae- overall a very chill vibe.

This will be my new go-to pizza place in Astoria.
