Having traveled all through Mexico and eaten some really fantastic authentic Mexican cooking I would say Puerto Vallarta is the most authentic delicious well prepared Mexican food on Long Island.
Guacamole, enchiladas de mole, enchiladas suizas and everything on the menu is fresh, delicious, comes in ample portions and is accompanied by top notch rice and beans.
$8 lunch specials are an outstanding value and come with chips and fresh salsa.
Puerto Vallarta is a must go to restaurant if you like Mexican food
Not gonna lie. Moving from Long beach to Glen cove made me a little depressed…UNTIL I FOUND THIS SPOT.
I love mexico, mexican food, mexicans, etc. I can eat enchiladas for days.
Food was authentic & tasty. Drinks made me drunk. Service was fast.
bye bye Pancho's, hello Puerto Vallarta!
What a delish place! Tried it out with a friend because we were seeing a movie in glen cove and it's only 5 min from the theatre. As always I had enchiladas and loved them I've had better but the prices and drinks made up for it. The pina coladas and strawberry daiquiris were only 6.50 CAN I GET AN AMEN?!? They were so good wow I'd go back just for those alone.
I was craving Mexican cuisine and all the Mexican places in my town are sub-par and pricey.. I don't like that combo. We took to Yelp to find something else nearby and came across Puerto Vallarta. I had the best time here. TIPS:
1. GET A MARGARITA. It was probably one of the best I have ever had; if you like lime/citrus. I got the mango marg, but it was SO LIMEY and I LOVED EVERY SINGLE DROP. (pictured)
2. Skip the guacamole. It was too mashed up for me and just not worth it. If you do get it though, ask for lime on the side and squeeze some in; it needed it.
3. My boyfriend and I both got steak fajitas (it's skirt steak). They were delicious– especially the peppers and onions that came out sizzling. The way the steak is cut is on the thick side, which made it difficult to put in the tortilla, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. (pictured)
4. Skip the flan. It was only like $3 or something, but just not so great. (pictured)
We will definitely make the 25 minute trip out here again. Service was also good and professional.
All you can eat Mondays for $9.95.
Something tells me they are going to be very unhappy with me at work on Tuesday morning…
