  1. "Hi, I placed an order online and I just wanted to make sure you got my order." (I didn't get a confirmation email.)

"When you did you place your order?"

"No. I didn't get any orders. Something is wrong with our fax."

"Okay, should I–" Line clicks. "Hello..?"

I call again. This time I hear another lady screaming somethings in Indian before she answers.

"Hi, I just called about my order."

"No order. Something is wrong with our fax so we didn't get any faxes."

"Can I order with you then?"

"Can you call back in 5 minutes? I have to check online."

    "Fine, thanks."

After a few more calls, an hour and twenty minutes later, I finally picked up my order. To find out I put down half a benjamin for four pint sized containers of sauce.. The shrimp korma had shrimp the size of pennies. Wait, even smaller, albiet the sauce was good. The chicken tikka masala maybe had 6 pieces of chicken in it. There was more rice than anything else.

    Way to dampen my expectations.

  2. This review is solely for takeout. I've ordered twice from here through grubhub. The first time was yesterday and my fiancé ordered his favorite dish, chicken tikka masala, garlic nan, and cheese and tomato nan. He loved it so much, he requested for more today. So together we both ordered from Punjabi Indian & American Restaurant. Food is decent and delivery is solid. No complaints here. Like indian food? Try this place.

  3. I've never physically been here but they're the only Indian place that delivers to us via GrubHub. The food has been consistent and definitely hits the spot. (The Indian food craving spot.)

Besides the time I accidentally ordered dal makhani instead of yellow dal, this place has not disappointed.

  4. I popped my cherry tonight ordering dinner through Seamless. I ordered Lamb Vindaloo w/ Pure Basmati Rice and Medium spicy level and Lachiha Paratha. As I proceed to check-out and completed my order. The delivery estimate time is from 7:20pm-7:30pm but I get a call from the delivery guy at 6:56pm.

    Wow small disappointed containers…

I know my tastebuds for either Beef or Lamb Vinadloo but Punjabi's is not authentic at all. The red spicy sauce tasted more like a pasta sauce from a can. The Lachicha Paratha was sooooooo bland as I wanted to try something new. I think I will just stick to my favorite spots Anya Agra Indian Restaurant and Masala Box on Bell Blvd.

    What a waste of money!

  5. I wanted to go with something different for lunch today and Punjabi Indian restaurant came up in my Yelp search. I called, placed my order and was able to pick up within 10 minutes.

I went with their vegetarian lunch special; I chose the channa masala with whole wheat naan and a bottle of water, all for $8. The container the channa came in was kind of small, even for a lunch special. I know of other places that give that same size container of channa and a bake on the side for like $5. I do like the fact that they give you four pieces of naan (#BreadHead)so I did ended up being pretty full. The actual channa masala itself had the consistency of a soup rather than the thickened sauce I'm used to. The spices just weren't there either, it was pretty bland, oily and unauthentic. I'm a sucker for some bread though so I will say, in that moment that warm naan made my day….Sidebar, I'm upset though because after cooling down the naan was like rubber, signs that it isn't fresh and more than likely microwaved, Yuck!

    I will not be returning

  6. I probably order food from here every week.
I've never been to the actual place but the delivery is solid.
They are on seamless and the only one worth ordering from after 9 pm in my neighborhood.

I usually get one of the lentil entrees and the lamb or chicken curry. I always get an extra order of naan too. I think the okra could be done better and the garlic naan too, but brownie points for often having diet raspberry snapple.

Even more brownie points for the consistent service and fast delivery.

  7. I'm addicted to their delivery and their butter chicken.  Love that they give you options on how spicy you want your dish.  Their delivery is excellent.  There was one point where I was in disbelief; they delivered my meal in 15 minutes.

The food always comes hot (not luke warm) how I like it.  And it's always a plus finding a restaurant that makes butter chicken.  I noticed not too many restaurants have this dish.  If you haven't, you should definitely give it a try.

  8. I am updating my review as I feel they have redeemed themselves and deserve an additional star.

Tonight we ordered at 6:10 and our order was here by 6:30. It was piping hot when it arrived. I got the shrimp korma again and it was much creamier than last time. I also decided to try the Chicken Vindaloo which was also pretty good, a little spicy and very flavorful. No issues with bones in the boneless dishes this time.

We also tried the channa masala and ordered it hot. It was HOT, but in a good way. We also added some chicken pakora's, and samosa's to our order. Total came up to $43.00 including tax and tip. It fed three people with additional food left over. Everyone was happy, we didn't have to wait as long and we still have plenty of leftovers for tomorrow.

I am glad we gave them another chance and our experience vastly improved. I plan on trying other items and ordering again. This time even my husband was convinced because he wasn't a huge fan of the chicken tikka last time.

There may have been another cook on duty tonight, the food seemed different, and fresher. The last time it was a Sunday and this time it was a weeknight so I am going to make a note of that and give extra time on weekend and see if that makes a difference.
