  1. I'm not sure why there are so many bad reviews!!
I have come here multiple times and also called in orders. My sister and I LOVE this place. They have changed their name from Pita Grill but that never made a difference with me. I always seem to want to try new things but end up getting the fish taco platter and the California hummus. They always taste great and all the ingredients are fresh and well-seasoned. Recently my sister ordered the lamb platter with tahini sauce on the side and it was sooo good!! The lamb was perfectly cooked and tasted great with the sauce, definitely my next order.
If you decide to come here to try this place out, don't forget your favorite alcoholic beverage. It's BYOB!!

  2. Wow, I'm surprised that this place got such bad reviews.

There weren't many people here when I came with my friend for lunch. We may have been their only customers, or one of very few tables.

I ordered their fish tacos, and they were great! They also have this corn on the cob side – it's slathered in some sort of buttery sauce and it's to die for.

Not sure about their consistency since I've only been here once, though.

  3. What is UP with the horrible reviews?

I almost didn't step foot in here because of all the negativity.

Are you going to have the Mediterranean meal of your life here?  Nope – but its decent.

I had the chicken rice bowl with brown rice which was delicious & light.  I used to come here when it was named pita grill and get that all the time.  The only difference is that they used to load up on arugula and now they use a lot more brown rice – (cutting costs??)

I would come back here and get that.

  4. I had the grilled chicken pita with citrus sauce. It was good and definitely worth the price. Several menu items are a non-traditional take on Mediterranean dishes, which is interesting but can be a drawback if you're looking for the classics.

  5. The rebranded Pita Grill is vastly improved, if you ask me. We've recently discovered their salads and rice bowls, and while we've only gotten take out, it has been really reliable every time. I'm a huge fan of the Santa Fe salad and love the incorporation or the fresh (not pickled) jalapeños. While these prices are a touch high for a bowl of lettuce ($10ish), the portions are large and the ingredients are fresh and tasty. This is heavy on my take out location rotation.

  6. Had lunch here at it was just ok, if that.

Service was great – friendly and timely – so I'll give them that.

But, my chicken was rubbery.  Flavor was absent.  Ingredients in the pita weren't well distributed – one bite had item A, another bite had item B, rather than a good even mix.

    I was unimpressed.

  7. The California hummus is delicious and is a must try.  I also order the grilled chicken pita which is decent because sometimes the chicken can be a bit dry, but the roasted garlic sauce makes it tastier.

  8. I became a huge fan of Pita Grill, now Pure Pita, 2/3 years ago, and every now and then I continue to get the same 1 or 2 things because I love the concept/flavors. My experience with takeout is always hit or miss. They've always been really on, or very off.

I pretty much have the Steak Rice Bowl and the Lamb Rice Bowl on rotation, whenever I'm in the mood. The citrus garlic sauce is so mysterious to me, but so damn good-worth the extra $.50. There have been times when there are almost no veggies or protein in the bowl, forgotten extra sauces that I paid for but, then there are times like last night where it was just spot on. Could be affected by time, dinner rush vs. early afternoon, or just a change in line cooks… who knows.

When it's good, it's good but I cannot discount the many times where I've just wanted to return my food and get something else. My conclusion: proceed at your own risk.
