  1. Healthy, portioned and tasty.

I ordered the lamb platter with citrus brown rice and roasted veggies. It tasted so fresh and healthy. I really enjoyed it. The tahini was a bit watered down, but good nonetheless. The portion wasn't large, but that is a good thing sometimes! The price wasn't bad either. My boyfriend and I sat outside. Good service too!

  2. Cant go wrong with this place. Order the mexican corn on the cob or fish tacos they are phenomenal. We also enjoy the rice bowls and gyro platters.

Very pleased with my experience here and i will be back!

  3. Delivery – is a good for a quick and healthy option. I usually order the grilled chicken platter. It's a ton of food and arrives very quickly.

Take out- Never again. We stopped in to get 2 panini to go and it took well over 30 min; longer than delivery if you can believe it. We were told after about 25 that they were out of grilled chicken and that they had to make it fresh. This confused me? Isn't it always cooked to order? Grilled chicken breast only takes a couple of minutes on a pre-heated grill? We were also told that the dining room orders take priority over the take out counters. I don't understand that system at all. The only saving grace was the free soft drinks we were allowed to take.

  4. Went here Friday night, party of 5, brought a couple bottles of wine (gotta love the BYOBs).  When I arrived, the rest of the party had ordered the hummus platter (hummus, Cali hummus and babaganoush), served with somewhat warm pitas.  All the dips were tasty (nothing exceptional), but we ran out of pitas before dip.  Our waitress, although very friendly, was a little 'lack-luster'.  she brought water, opened 1 bottle of wine, and took our orders.  My niece ordered her salad bowl over quinoa instead of brown rice; my mom ordered her's the same way.  when the meals finally came out, my niece's was wrong.  Instead of leaving the bowl on the table and bringing a side of quinoa, the waitress took it back to have it corrected.  We all waiting another 5 minutes for the corrected bowl to come out (so as not to be rude and eat without my niece)…  Two of us ordered the lamb gyro rotisserie, which was like a meat stew (not an abundant lamb flavor), with roasted veggies and brown rice (those were the 2 sides i chose).  This came with a watery version of something similar to tzatziki.  It was OK.  One person ordered the burger, which he said was "OK", and my the other two ordered rice bowls (subbing quinoa), which was mostly grains.  We also waited and waited to be acknowledged so we could have another bottle of wine opened.  Either they are short-staffed, or just really laid back, but more attention should be paid to the customers, especially when there are a lot of empty tables on a Friday night.  The food was 'eh', but we all agreed that it was probably a better spot for a light lunch.  We had a groupon which brought out $87 bill to $37, which was a very good price to pay for an 'ok' meal.  I also ordered the Sicilian Panini to go, but changed the regular fries to sweet potato fries, and was charged $2 for the 'upgrade'.  Lo-and-behold, when my husband opened his dinner….REGULAR FRIES!!!    c'mon, it really wasn't that busy that the cooks couldn't get THAT right!!!!    He said his sandwich was 'OK, nothing special'   (PS – the menu page on their website has a typo – really????  :Build YOU Own???    UGH….)

  5. I had a seamless takeout experience at Pure Pita. Had a restaurant certificate burning a hole in my wallet so I finally decided to use it. Online ordering was easy and food was ready in about 25 mins. There is a separate take-out entrance (left entrance) and I was quickly greeted and food provided.

I liked the packaging of the take-out – they use sealable plastic containers so there is no leaking sauces, etc. The lamb and beef platters were great. Portions were all right – on the small size for the price – but the sheer customization options was soooo appreciated, since my husband is on a no-carb diet. The citrus garlic sauce is to die for! Platters come with two pieces of pita each on the side. Nice time I'll try the quinoa instead of rice and see how that goes, but I'm a happy camper.

Street parking only, just like most of Montclair.

  6. Placed an order via yelp! And within 30 minutes, hot gyro + lamb has been delivered at our door step. That's smooth customer service if you asked me. We were so hungry, but felt lazy to drive over, but this app has made life easier.
Now let's talk about the food. Presentation, well done, taste, delicious as anticipated.

The pita was fresh, soft, and even though delivered, it still had that raw freshly baked flavor. The lamb was well done and adequately spiced, nicely sautéed and easy to taste.

The quinoa, and rice were perfectly cooked, not to mushy or too soft, just right. The sweet potatoes was to die for…. Hmm! So much needed for his late night delicacy/ craving. Along with the quinoa salad as a base, the gyro has come in handy tonight. This is our first late night order in, and will certainly not our last!
