  1. I'd been meaning to try Quaint for some time so I'll admit that I might have had my hopes up before I even sat down. This is usually a mistake, but Quaint did not disappoint.

The ambiance is nice- not too noisy, not too dim, and the service is friendly and fast. I loved the open kitchen and the smiling chef.

Upon seeing the specials, we already knew we wanted to try the lamb – Parmesan encrusted seasoned lamb chop, deep fried, served with couscous and kale chips. Saying that the lamb was delicious would be a gross understatement. The dish was not greasy at all and didn't taste deep fried. The meat was cooked perfectly- crispy on the outside and juicy and tender on the inside. The couscous was very plain- which I didn't mind at all since the main was so meaty and well seasoned. The kale chips were nice and crisp but sparse.

We also ordered the Salmon, which was served with Israel couscous and pumpkin seeds. The salmon was alright to me albeit somewhat forgettable, but my friend said it was a bit overcooked for his liking. However we both agreed that the Israel couscous was simply fantastic. It was well seasoned and well cooked.

Between the two entrees, we would have loved to have taken the lamb chop and served it with the Israel couscous. But overall, both dishes were great.

We were both kind of full but couldn't resist a homemade dessert. We opted for the strawberry shortcake. The cake was a bit dry- something I didn't mind too much because of the cream and strawberries. The cream was very light and the everything tasted fresh. I was very happy that the dish was well balanced and not too sweet.

I have to mention that the menu is extremely affordable- especially for the quality of the food. It's lunch time the day after my visit and I am still thinking about that lamb chop and Isreal couscous…

  2. I've had dinner inside with a friend and out on the back garden with a friend as well. Great vibe inside and attentive service.
Very cute (if not a little cramped) garden space with vines everywhere and fireflies if you come late enough. The place was very busy both times I've gone.
I had the burger which was delicious with the exception of the goat cheese added. Goat cheese in a burger was the first and although everything else tasted delicious, I think goat cheese is best left for salads or nonburgers.

  3. It's the neighborhood gem everyone wishes they had in their neighborhood. The restaurant has been open close to 9 years, I have visited on three different occasions and I am a big fan of their New American cuisine. The restaurant is a decent size, it has a very Long Island/Hamptons vibe to their decor. There is also something very special to me about having an open kitchen, it seems like such a non factor, but it is such a big deal to me. I really appreciate the openness and it kinda shows that the kitchen has nothing to hide, I feel it is more honest and I always like a show. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are a good size. P.S- the back garden is on the small side, but nice when the weather is fitting.

    The food:

Parmesan Crusted Fried Lamb Chops- Served with couscous and fried kale. This was one of the specials of the night and it was spectacular! The lamb was fantastic, it was perfectly crisp on the outside and nice and tender on the inside. The flavor of the lamb was present and the lamb was not greasy at all, the idea of fried lamb seems greasy, but it was not. The couscous was nice, it doesn't blow you away with flavor but it was a nice addition with the raisins and chopped pine nuts. The fried kale was a nice added crunch, it doesn't have a ton of flavor but still nice. yelp.com/user_local_phot…

Salmon- Israeli Couscous, Sun-dried Tomato, Pumpkin Seeds. I thought this was a really good dish. The salmon was seasoned and prepared nicely, but a tad over for me, I like my salmon more raw. The couscous was really good though, it was flavored really well and the sun-dried tomato added a touch of sweetness and the pumpkin seeds added a nice crunchy element. A very well conceived dish. yelp.com/user_local_phot…

Strawberry Shortcake- I thought this was OK, the biscuits itself was somewhat dry and lifeless. But the strawberries had nice flavor and sweetness, the homemade whipped cream was really good, it was not too sweet. yelp.com/user_local_phot…

  4. What a lovely place for brunch! I went here recently with my family, and we all enjoyed our time thoroughly. The atmosphere is relaxed, warm, and welcoming; casual, but not too casual as to not feel put together. The service was attentive and polite, and everything on the brunch was reasonably priced ($5-12/dish). Almost all of us ordered omelettes, which each came with delicious homefries and a lil biscuit. My herb and goat cheese omelette was just what I needed – creamy, fresh, and filling. Speaking of which, unlike most brunch places, the portions here were not overwhelming, but an amount that made you feel content, not stuffed. That said, the real standouts were the chicken-apple sausages we ordered on the side. That fruit and meeting pairing goes very well, and they cook the sausages to slightly crisp the casings. All in all, I would definitely go back here for brunch.

  5. I really liked the atmosphere at Quaint but was thoroughly underwhelmed by the food. Though I appreciate the local sourcing and seasonal ingredients, my meal was just lacking in the flavor department. I went with a friend and together we ordered the cod and salmon entrees, along with the mesclun salad as our appetizer. I could tell that the ingredients were fresh, at least the tomatoes were- slightly crisp and sweet. The service was polite and I really enjoyed the quaint (ha! pun intended) and romantic feel of the backyard that was decorated with tiny string lights and white furniture, but were not enough to overpower the bland food.

  6. This is a nice local bar/restaurant for a low key, intimate and delicious meal. That said, the price is a little high for regular everyday dining, but it's also not quite fancy enough for a special occasion – rather, I'd say it's the perfect place for a nice, quiet dinner to catch up with a friend you haven't seen in awhile. The place has a cozy ambience (main dining room has cool wooden pews for seating and the backyard is also adorable), good wine selection, and the staff are very nice. The best deal is definitely the Mon night unlimited mussels & frites (although once you hit about four bowls they give you an extra big bowl to kind of finish you off, hehe).  However, in general the portions are too small for the price (esp brunch, as a previous reviewer said).  I also wish they had happy hour specials like some of the other local bars.  If they had that (either drink special or drink + appetizer special) this would def become more of a go to place.

  7. As the name suggests, this place looks attractively old-fashioned. This place has character. I like the wood decor. It reminds me of a pub out in England. There is an open  kitchen which makes this place even more interesting. Something about this place feels familiar.

During the summer months, go outside and use the patio. When the light shines it looks like someone's backyard. The tables has a worn look. This creates a comfortable and cozy feeling.

We came to this place a couple of times. The mussels taste amazing. Quaint features a Monday special: all you can eat mussels and fries!

Ordered the salmon dish. It melts in your mouth. It's that delicious! The menu presents a wonderful array of salads. Try them.

This is a neighbor gem waiting to be discovered.

  8. My friend and I came here for dinner and drinks Sunday night, and everything hit the spot! Sitting at the bar, I ordered the cheeseburger with blue cheese, and my friend ordered the spinach and mushroom penne pasta. Because it was cold outside, we forewent beer and instead ordered glasses of the Malbec and Pinot Noir, respectively. Each paired well with our food, and we left satisfied. Yay! I'm a fan.
