  1. I am so lucky to live by this farm.   They sell fresh farm eggs on most days at noon but don't be too tardy because those sell out quick.  They have lots of fun events during the spring, summer and fall.   Pumpkin Patch, corn maize, sheep shearing, antique car show, Native American pow wow, kids fair etc… You can look up their events online by date on their website.
The farm is open until 5pm everyday when there are no events going on and it is free to enter and visit the animals.  They sell organic produce during the Summer.   You can feed the goats here by purchasing goat feed from the adorable gift shop.  The Hayrides are also a lot of fun!  There are bathrooms and a soda vending machine on premises.  The gift shop also sells drinks and snacks.  The farm also hosts birthday parties and weddings!   The location has also been used for scenes in celebrity ghost stories with Alice Cooper!

  2. I have been here a couple of times for seasonal events that occurred – the Native American pow wow and a fall festival with a corn maze. Both were very fun with food stalls and vendors set up. Try to come here during those times. Otherwise this place will be boring. It is comprised of some gardens, a greenhouse and a petting zoo. Admission is free too.

  3. Yesterday, was my first time at the Queens Farm and I was thoroughly impressed. I came here for the Children's Fall Festival/ Pumpkin Patch. The cost for the event was ($5 per person).

Admission included: Bounce houses, I saw three games for kids (tic-tac toe, Basketball & Football) pig racing, Halloween characters (Superman, Minnie Mouse, among others) Ecology booth kids' crafts, balloons made by a friendly crown that still may have shaken up Cosmo Kramer and Halloween buckets).

For additional fees which varied: Petting zoo, pony rides, hayrides, Haunted House, and The Amazing Maize Maze and Various food vendors. I only purchased Apple Cider $4) it was ok, but I have had better.

I got there early because I wanted to get home for the Giants game (Go G-Men!) but it was still relatively crowded, but the staff did an excellent job of keeping everything orderly and running smoothly. Often times,  at these sort of events, the staff are young and not attentive to the needs of the kids and/or parents, but here they were. Especially in the bouncy houses where some of the bigger kids were rough housing around the smaller kids.

My sole complaint was many of the pumpkins were in poor condition; which I guess is my fault for going so late in the season, but I wanted to attend yesterday's event, which killed two birds with one stone.

I would definitely return next year and recommend you do the same.

  4. Hands down the best family oriented establishment in queens! It is always having great events to bring your family and friends to. I have been coming to the farm since I was a child and it honestly feels like home. My favorite festival is their annual fall one. It includes great vendors, bands, an art gallery, tractor-rides, amazing food, a corn maze and much more!
For a split second it feels like you are plucked from the maddens of the five burrows and placed upstate New York. I would give this 100 stars if I could!!!

  5. Glenn Oaks being 'A place for fine folks' – per its 1970's town motto – this outdoor farm "museum" fits the bill as a fine reprieve from the hustle-bustle of the city.  Claiming to be New york's longest-running farm- which might be true- this place is great for kids. The petting zoo is a must see and they even offer hay rides! shocked to discover this spot in queens. check it out!

  6. I loved this place even though there weren't any events going on the cold March day we went. We took the tour and learned about the farm the way kids learn about historical things on school field trips. Except I'm genuinely interested now. And I genuinely want places like this farm to flourish. We fed some goats (who were greedy assholes), some alpacas (graceful creatures who waited patiently for their turn even as the goats butted them out of the way), and some sheep (who were luckily separated from the goats because they sure weren't in any shape to defend themselves).

We happily patronized their gift shop where they sold fresh eggs, spinach, and yarn spun from the wool of their sheep and alpacas. I cannot wait to come back when they have more vegetables and seasonal activities.

    The eggs were delicious.

  7. My husband and I visited earlier this month after I discovered they had a pumpkin patch. It was a bit of a pain to get to on public transport but it was worth it. There is so much to
see in addition to the pumpkin patch; the maize maze, animals and petting
zoo, hayride and the Adriance Farm House, that you can tour. The prices were reasonable, ranging from $3-5 per activity. There are also food stalls so you can get a snack. A lot of places are *cash only* so make sure you have money with you.

There were so many pumpkins! Even as an adult I was excited, so kids will love it, as well as all the animals. I would give the hayride a miss, we lined up for quite a while for essentially two loops of the car park. It is a bumpy ride and you don't really see anything. We didn't do the maze, but it looked loads of fun. We toured the farm house, which was around 45 mins, I would say only do this if you have time after everything else, as there are only 3 rooms to see and the commentary can be a bit slow, but 'Mister Marty' is really nice and knowledgeable about the farm.

There is also a little farm shop that is worth a look, where you can buy eggs. It is a fun day out for adults and families. I plan to go back next October to do it all again.

  8. I've been visiting this Farm for 3 years now. This is such a little Gem in Queens. I have had a blast with my daughter and friends here time and time again for the petting zoo and Con Edison Corn Maze. The Fall season is the best time to visit. The Children's Fall Festival and the different calendar events make this place a guaranteed good time.

The Con Edison sponsored Cornfield Maze is something to try once in your life. It's the best $9 you'll spend in Queens. $5 for children under 12. I've gone 2 years in a row and loved it. It's a great date night idea and family outing. Strategic crafted Con Edison constructs the coolest maze each year. Your provided a paper map and a tall flag to navigate through the maze and find your way out across the wooden bridge. There are mailboxes filled with clues scattered throughout the maze. It's a guaranteed great time and cool challenge. Definitely a unique experience.

The $3.00 Hay ride is a great way to tour the grounds. There are fresh fruit vendors and farm eats of all kinds. Fresh squeezed apple cider, roasted corn, Mozzarella Filled arepas. This is a Foodie Paradise.
