Rainbowberry may seem as standard as it gets when it comes to non-name brand fro-yo joints. It's DIY at $0.49 per ounce with about 12 different flavors to choose from and a great many more choice of toppings that range from fresh fruit to decadent candy bar pieces.
BUT! What makes this place stand out is that it's exceptionally clean with really friendly staff and offer a frequent customer card– buy 6, get 1 free!
Like a God send- we nearly bought our fro-yo from a place with only four flavors and sharing a counter with indoor Spanish street meat! It takes a lot for me to turn down delectable frozen yogurt treats, but that place had crossed the line. Thankfully-YELP TO THE RESCUE! We moseyed over to rainbowberry and was greeted by about 12? Flavors and an abundance of toppings-including my new favorite-those little beads of pomegranate flavor. Seriously delicious and clean looking. Also had an A from the inspection posted in the window (so there's that). It was definitely 16handles worthy fro-yo and toppings without the trip to the city (I may have made the trip for fro-yo once or twice, don't judge). My only gripe is the faint smell lingering in the air that resembled a dirty baby wipe… But it's Queens, so this was actually a minor detail. I'd go back if I'm in the neighborhood.
Typical Frozen Yogurt joint. Walk in, go to the back, choose a cup, fill said cup with a choice of flavors, top your cup at the toppings bar, weigh your cup and pay.
This replaced Italian Farms in the prime location on the corner of the block. I see them being very busy almost nonstop(since I can see the store from outside my window) but I cant wait to see how busy they will be on… say December 14th..or in January. I might be wrong. I might see a line outside in the start of February. I guess I will have to wait and see.
