Ramen Burger

“I was satisfied from one burger, I lined up for the burger at Brooklyn Bridge Pier 2 Smorgasburg, it was about a 10minute line.”

“Unlike bread buns, which get soggy and fall apart, the noodle buns were chewy and gave great texture, and helped keep the shape of the burger.”

  1. Finally got to try the infamous Ramen burger and it loved up to my expectations. The Ramen which is the bun was very soft and light yet crisp on the outside. Luckily the Ramen was not greasy or heavy to me. The burger tasted was a little oily but the flavor was great. The sauce complimented the burger well. I would love to come back and try it again although I wish it came with fries or something. The line although long was very quick.

  2. Grabbed one of these $10 burgers at Governors Ball. The line was about 1 hour and 30 minutes, probably because it was peak dinner time. I got the burger without cheese because the idea of putting cheese into most types of Asian foods creeps me out a little (think about it – last time you had cheese in Asian food? Like never.). The burger was wrapped up in a piece of paper and the grease from the ramen patties had already soaked through by that point, so I had to place a napkin around it as well. Burger was alright, not too dry. I appreciated the seasoning they added; it reminded of the type of sauce they use in Peking duck dishes. Ramen patties were disappointing. No flavor. Just oily. Texture was definitely interesting. I don't think it contributed to the burger. It might have detracted. Anyway, I was glad to have tried it out at least and seen what the "hype" was all about. But I wouldn't spend $10 again on this.

  3. I went to the Ramen Burger stand in South Street Seaport. It was the only one with a line, but they moved pretty quickly. Then the food came out pretty quickly with them screaming out your name.

I got the original with cheese to split with my friend. The sauce on the burger was on point. Delicious. However, the rest was just alright. Not great. I think I may have hyped it up too much in my head because of how much I love ramen and burgers.

The ramen was interesting. But not much flavor. Just a bit more on the oily/greasy side. Same with the burger patty. It didn't seem to have much flavor and was fully cooked (completely understood).

Not sure I'd be rushing to try it again but it was definitely an experience and I guess that's what the Ramen Burger is all about! Something different!

  4. surprisingly good, perfectly compact, albeit messy, grab some napkins. straight carbs on red meat, how can you go wrong right? there wasnt a wait today either. its soft and mushy, flowing with sauce. good to have once.

  5. I was expecting the ramen to be more of a crisp but nonetheless it was a good burger. It's different, but the burger was super savory the beef was perfectly cooked and the sauces went well together. Greasy to eat but you can live a little. Also, it's pricy at $12 a burger.

  6. Finally had one of these at Berg'n last week (they sadly weren't doing great there, so they will be leaving this week). They really only have two options for the burgers: meat and veggie. The veggie comes with a delicately crafted garlic aioli  with, essentially just mushrooms and scallions in between a bed of ramen.

Let me start by saying… IT WAS AWESOME. The mushrooms and aioli mixed together with the flavor of ramen was absolutely great. Do I think they could've done a little bit more for the veggie option? Yes. Why not use an actual patty? They load it with a ton of mushrooms, so half of them fall out while you're eating this "burger". The ramen is pretty tasteless in itself, which is where the aioli came in to save the day.

This is a unique twist to a typical ramen place. Like sometimes I want ramen, but I don't want it on a summer day when it's 90 degrees outside. But I don't think the cost is worth it. $10 for a burger not even as big as my hands (and I have smaaaall hands) didn't seem cost efficient to me.  Also, I can't imagine standing in a long line at smorgasburg for this. It's a nice try if you don't have to wait in line and don't mind paying a lot for a little.

  7. It tastes just like what its called – ramen on the outside, burger on the inside. While it was tasty, and I am glad I tried it, I wouldn't rave about it. Definitely worth trying once though!!

  8. Honestly, too overwhelming… what's so great about it? Yuck. Do not recommend.
