Ravagh Persian Grill
“so we opted for medium, which I believe was the proper choice, because the barg came out incredibly tender and full of flavor.”
“And my favorite desserts are the saffron ice cream and faloodeh.”
“Delicious – had lamb shank and a pretty solid cocktail (had mango something in it)
Seems like a family-ish place to go, but still nice decor.”

Literally the some of the most amazing hummus and kabobs I have ever tried. Came here on a Friday night, and we were immediately seated. The waiters were attentive, and they brought a ton of extra hot pita for us when they realized how quickly I was eating it with their amazing hummus! We ordered the barg, a steak kabob, and it was cooked to perfection and the grilled onion and rice along with the steak made this dish heavenly. Couldn't have asked for a better meal!
My first experience with Persian cuisine turned out to be the best idea ever. Only knowing what I now of Persian food from my obsession with Shahs of Sunset . The table settings are are usually over flowing with various rice dishes and dips but that is where my knowledge ends.
We arrived to an empty restaurant on Monday the 4th . By the time we left there was a decent crowd and the staff was buzzing about.
We started with the panir starter which was more of a light palate cleanser overflowing with herbs nuts , radishes and feta cheese .
I'm not a meat eater I occasionally consume fish and shellfish and there were lots of options for me . I decided on the shrimp kebab with green rice . I'm usually not a fan of dill but it worked well with the rice and made for an interesting combination .
I would definitely remember my meal here for future delivery / take out .
Nice large room with much seating and a cozy feel.
The warm round bread served at the beginning is good. It's paired with a tart coriander sauce and a cool yogurt sauce with a bit of dill.
The mirza gashemi, a blend of tomato, eggplant, garlic and bread was very tasty. It had a consistency reminiscent of hummus and reminded me of a warm spaghetti sauce.
The beef stew was good though not a taste I really prefer. The stew had kidney beans and cooked spinach, and the beef was soft and tender.
The barq kebab was delicious, the taste was excellent. The vegetables (onion, mushrooms, tomato, zucchini) were grilled. I did wish the rice was a little more flavorful, but I'm glad they didn't use food coloring to make it more yellow.
The bastani ice cream was pretty good. I think it had small chunks of frozen cream in it. The flavor of the rosewater was strong. I've had better bastani but I still liked it.
Overall, friendly service, food came out quickly. I enjoyed my dinner here, good experience.
Pros: The grilled veggies are really good. The chicken is very fresh and juicy and the portions are acceptable. Everything is fresh. I will be back for sure to try their other items. I have eaten the chicken from here twice. The staff is friendly and conversational.
Cons: For pickup or delivery remember that you are paying a premium for the nice interior of the place. The price is definitely high for the amount of chicken that you get here. Also, they are not very flexible with substituting items, which is a problem for me as I don't eat carbs and don't like it when I run into snags when trying to accomplish this rather common dieting goal. Also, since everything is made fresh for this restaurant-type establishment, it takes a while longer to get the food than your typical assembly-line style kebab place like omar's or big arc or naya.
Despite having a reservation, I was forced to wait nearly two hours for a table. The hosts were rude and inattentive as was the service. There was a lamb stew which was absolutely delicious, but after the terrible service, I was too turned off to complete my meal. I packed it and left.
Stopped by for lunch on a Saturday. I had the Chicken Kobideh ($14) which came with rice and grilled tomato. Very nice and a big portion. Food came out fast. Server was OK except he wandered off just when I wanted a check. Music was something ethnic which I liked.
I had a pomegrante martini which was fine.
I will stop back again. I little out of the way but reasonable prices and good food. Much better than some of the brunches I have had lately.
Highly recommend lamb dishes! Lamb shank and lamb kebab are 2 of my favorites! They are juicy and flavorful. If you are meat lover, definitely come here.
The portion is huge, but you can finish it by yourself!
Huge portions of flavorful meat and rice. You will get your money's worth out of this meal! I ordered the chicken kebab. Comes with fluffy rice, yummy and soft flat bread, salad, and grilled onion and tomato. The grilled onion and tomato are a nice aesthetic touch, but are not too appealing to eat because it's literally 1/2 an onion and a whole grilled tomato on your plate. This is some good food. Ordering from here I feel like I can eat well, eat healthy, and actually afford it.
