“At the gracious waiter's enthusiastic behest we settled on the Arroz con Pato, Lomo Saltado, Quinoa Chaufa and an assortment of Ceviche.”

“We shared the suckling pig which came with chicharron and ended our meal with the bread pudding and the donuts.”

“We also got the Chicharron sliders which was crispy pork shoulder, sweet potato, salsa criolla and spicy mayo.”

  1. Bread pudding and pisco sour/punch. #awesome

Service is great, seating for large groups can easily be accommodated, food is consistently flavorful and well executed, and the ambiance is great. Do you need much more?

Also, while all of their food has been fantastic I feel the need to highlight their rice. It's buttered. Either that or they sprinkle crack in it. I am pretty sure this is illegal so I think butter is more likely. It is delicious. DELICIOUS! Empty carb heaven. That is all.

  2. We had an amazing trip to New York starting with accidentally coming here instead of the other restaurant we were planning on, because the wait time for that was literally four hours. Here, they had no wait, which was a little alarming for us (what good place doesn't have a wait on a Friday night?) but BOY were we wrong. I didn't even know if I liked Peruvian food but damn I sure do. We started with the clasico ceviche then immediately ordered another one; the freshness could not be beat. Small plates wise, I tried the causa which was excellent and just a foodie's dream come true (cold potato puree, seafood, avocado, spicy mayo? Yes please). For my main dish I had the arroz con pato which was perfectly presented and yes, I finished off the whole plate. Their drinks are also delicious, and three pisco sours later we were ready to stumble on down to UCB for a show.

I will specifically put this on my list for any returns to the city. The service was also excellent, and our waitress was super nice!

  3. Not sure what's going on. I thought it would be a good idea to make reservations for Mother's Day. Everyone is super friendly but the wait staff is obviously overwhelmed. The one person that took orders wasn't writing the orders down and screwed up a dish we ordered which could have cause an allergic reaction. They didn't charge us for the dish but it's not ok. I hope that they can rethink their serving structure and how they are noting orders. I didn't see the usual faces and the front of the restaurant looks like is being repurposed for either an additional restaurant or new remodeling. Either way not sure if I'll be back.

  4. Peruvian food at its finest!!!!…I had the luxury of eating and savoring every bite of food that I ate at this restaurant during restaurant week last year. My daughter and I took advantage of the $35 fixed menu. The manager was so nice and went to each individual table to talk to patrons about their dining experience at that moment. The dessert was fantastic as well! I plan on going back to partake of their brunch specials!

  5. I think it's official. It's safe to say I found a new spot for Peruvian food and happy hour. I heard about Raymi through a friend and since my first visit I immediately fell in love.

I usually sit at the bar so I can get a close look of the never-ending show of the various cocktails being made. Pisco sour, hands down, is my all time favorite. As a matter of fact, it's for sure a signature drink at Raymi.

The food is incredibly delicious. Their ceviche is divine, super light but packed with amazing flavors. Can't go wrong with their Jalea, perfect mixture of seafood and yuca. Nicely fried for that perfect crunch. Not in the mood for seafood? Corn empanadas are the bomb. I kid you not.

I love the ambiance. Romantic yet fun and trendy. Service is ridiculously incredible. Everyone from the staff to the managers is super friendly. Julissa, the manager, came around and made sure my experience was up to par. Which is pretty dope.

I can't wait to return. Next time around I'm definitely trying their salmon.

Almost forgot dining room, ceviche bar, and full bar available. How cool is that?

  6. I loved Raymi. I've had plenty of Peruvian food prior to this, but this was next level. Refined plates of traditional Peruvian dished. Ceviche, dumplings, lomo saltado and salmon were all incredible.

Beautiful decor and stellar service tops it all off.

  7. 2.5 stars but rounding up for decent service and ambiance. We wanted to like Raymi but the food, with the exception of the lukewarm steak skewers- wasn't that special. Actually all the dishes came out very quickly… but they were mostly lukewarm which probably meant that they were all cooked ahead of time and just haphazardly re-heated. I hate when my food isn't hot.

Add in high prices, really small portions, and a particularly bland ceviche, and you got a place where we'll almost certainly never return.

  8. Wow, Raymi was empty on Sunday night, but probably more enjoyable for us because we had the place to ourselves. The service was excellent. Our waiter always refilling our water, and replacing silverware as necessary. They made useful and spot on food recommendations and were unobtrusive.

We shared the pork dumplings, flank steak, and bread pudding for dessert.  The dumplings were steamed with a pickled chutney that I finished off with spoon and fork! The flank steak was seasoned nicely with a peppery type rub, cooked perfectly medium rare, and topped with a house chimichuri (pro tip: as for a side of their house hot sauce which packs a good punch). The brioche bread pudding we ordered on the recommendation of our waiter was tipped with almond ice cream and served in a small cast iron pan.  I would go back just for this alone, but I will definitely also be back to explore the many options on the menu that we didn't have a chance to try.
