Sangria was excellent – so was the service. This tiny place was next to the hotel we stayed at so it was a perfect spot to sit outside, have a drink and watch NYC walk by. Our visit took place during the World Cup games so frequently the place was packed with patrons – we never ventured inside so I'm not sure what the ambiance was like.
It's not everyday I get uptown, but when my friend is bartending, I'm totally down!
Recommend a comfy spot in the middle of the bar, grab a Sierra Nevada and don't forget an order of those truffle fries. Oh Yeah!
This place is cute, and low profile, good spot to chill.
Came in here for dinner. It was right next to my hotel, and looked comfortable and cosy. I sat at the bar and had a glass of Cabernet that was really excellent. I also ordered the Res 58 burger, which has a real thick patty, cheese (don't remember the type, think it was Gorgonzola), and an onion ring. The burger came with fries and cost $15.
It was a comfortable place to sit and the restaurant had a nice ambience with the dark red walls. It seemed like a neighborhood type place that has its regulars who always go there. The bartender was friendly.
The burger, though, was not the best I've had and was a little dry. I know $15 is sanded for New York prices, and a $13 glass of wine is also standard, but still this came out a little pricy for what I got.
Stopped in for lunch at Red 58 prior to a Carnegie Hall performance.
The entire interior is red and black.
The female bartender was extremely friendly and hospitable. She was mixing drinks and was a food server at the tables. This lady did everything. She made the most delicious drink called a Red Light Cocktail which included Keitel One Vodka.
The drink was $12.00.
My entrée was a incredibly delicious Crabcake BLT with a side salad. You can also get fries instead. I never had such a incredibly fresh crab cake in my life.
This lunch entrée was $15.00.
An excellent meal for $27 in New York is cheap.
The background music was upbeat but very pleasant.
There are two or maybe three TVs for sports viewing.
My entire experience there was fantastic!
Definitely return to this restaurant.
Great spot in midtown to grab a drink with friends (as I did), on a Friday evening. The space is small long and narrow (like most places in NYC), but the drinks were fantastic (especially the Specialty cocktails they serve). The bartender that evening was extremely friendly and was on top of his game with service, refills etc.
The decor is all red and black and there are candles everywhere, and this cliche decor is perfectly coupled with their uninspired food. Three of us had overpriced sandwiches and burgers and the buns were hard and dry as was the meat. The fries were obviously frozen and the side salad was a handful of lettuce… That's it… Just lettuce. The beer selection is also uninspired. I was surprised to find out this place has been around for four years…I would have bet it was brand new. A redeeming quality was the bartender waiter, he was lovely.
E-Scale: 9/10
The inside of this place is black and red and looks a bit like an asian palace or hookah room. I love the number of cocktails they have though they are a tad pricey.
My favorite are the truffletini, maresita, and the cosmo.
If you are a beer and shots person, this is not the place for you. Their shots are $11 for Jack Daniels.
Isaac the bartender is usually there late at night when I go and he is always friendly and attentive.
The food is excellent, especially the pork chops/mashed potatoes and four cheese ravioli.
The pork chops/mashed potatoes are very buttery, served hot, even at midnight. Pork chops were tender. Mashed potatoes not lumpy. Neither was over seasoned with salt.
The ravioli was fantastic. The tomato sauce was seasoned well and there is just enough raviolis to fill me up.
I go here quite frequently and I've never been disappointed by the cocktails or food.
