  1. I'm rating 4 because the roll was really small for $17. Don't get me wrong, the lobster was tender and delicious though. I ordered when they were at Madison Square Eats because they are normally to far to get to during the workday. Most of the meat is claw meat which is typically sweeter. I Tried the CT and ME and they were both delicious. Of course warm and with better was the best, but sometimes you want to choose a healthier option. 🙂 Would go back.

  2. Let me just say that this lobster roll did not disappoint (except I wish the portion size was bigger for the price).  Fresh, tender and sweet – both the lobster and the roll were on point!  I needed to order another one because the roll was pretty small, but when in Rome…or NY, do what the NYers do, right?

    I would definitely come back.

  3. I've been a long time fan of Luke's Lobster so when I read somewhere that Red Hook Lobster Pound has the best lobster rolls in the city right now I certainly had to investigate. Particularly since their Manhattan shop is not too far from my job. And wow! After having their BLT lobster roll I had to agree! The bread is toasted just right and the lobster is cooked and seasoned perfectly. My only gripe is that it is pricey and you know one lobster roll is barely enough to make you full..

  4. If you're looking for food that isn't too heavy, but still delicious you should come here! Cute little place that makes you feel like you're in Maine.

I got the Connecticut roll and it was buttery goodness. HUGE chunks of lobster. The combination of the toast, butter, and green onions was heaven.

  5. REAL TIME LUNCH REVIEW!!

I ordered it yesterday, for delivery today.  Arrived within the one hour window I chose.

Tried Lobstah Mac, peel 'n' eat skrimps, and Lobstah BLT.

Mac was solid!  Very generous portion of meat, most of which was claw!  Rich sauce, without being cloying.  Just enough to coat the pasta and meat.  Nice balance of noodle and meat (heh).  Acceptable portion for the price and quality.

For the price, can't really complain about the size, as midtown options are about the same (maybe a bit larger roll) for more moolah.  The fit one slice of tomato on one side…….and only one slice of bacon (albeit good quality bacon) on the other.  Really needs another piece of bacon…or a couple pieces crumbled up and tossed with the lobstah (??) to make it a proper bacon presence.  But good overall.  Nice lobstah.  Perfectly cooked.  Love the chipotle seasoning.  Wasn't overdressed with sauce.

12 generously sized shrimp.  Peeled easily.  Tender.  Good boil.  Nice flavor and spice.  Might' powerful cocktail sauce (LOVED the strong horseradish presence).

3.5, rounded up to 4-stars, as I didn't travel to get these goods.  Wouldn't list it as destination, but would consider ordering again through Caviar…and definitely poppin' in if I found myself in their 'hood (or saw their truck)!

  6. Not bad, but definitely not the best lobster roll I ever had.

For 25 bucks, I got a Connecticut lobster roll which already comes with a brined pickle, coleslaw, and potato salad, as well as a glass of beer/wine. I was a little sad that they didn't offer any fries, which personally I love eating with my lobster roll. Nonetheless, the coleslaw and potato salad (tiny servings of both by the way) were forgettable.

The lobster roll itself was good, but I thought it was smaller than some of its competitors' lobster rolls, which I was disappointed by. I did appreciate seeing that they put a decent amount of lobster in the actual roll, but I just felt like something was missing, flavor-wise.

  7. After receiving some recommendations for Red Hook Lobster Pound, we decided to make the trek down to see Red Hook and have dinner in the neighborhood. Red Hook itself is pretty weird place–it is quite a hike because there is no easy way to get there, and it is not necessarily a charming neighborhood, but there are definitely some gems there. We made our way to the restaurant, and they were just clearing up a few tables, so they were able to seat us within a few minutes. We must have arrived at the right time because shortly after, every table was full and there was a wait.

We love Sixpoint Brewery and were pleasantly surprised to see that they had a house beer from there on draft. It's called Pound4Pound, and like everything that Sixpoint does, it was awesome and paired really well with our dinner. We started with the Oysters Rockefeller. These were fried oysters served a top a bed of creamy spinach and bacon topped with a dollop of some type of aioli. They were out of this world! I thought I would love the lobster roll, but the oysters are what is making my mouth droll thinking back to this dinner. If you like oysters, or even just fried food, you will love these!

For our main dishes, I got the Maine lobster roll, and he got the lobster mac and cheese. My Maine lobster roll was perfection–it lives up to the hype. The lobster mac and cheese was cheesy and creamy and wonderful as well! After we finished our meal, we were contemplating ordering a slice of key lime pie for dessert when they brought out a complimentary whoopie pie for us to share. It was such a nice surprise!

The service was top-notch throughout our entire meal, and everyone working there was super pleasant and kind. It seems like they genuinely enjoy working there, which was a super nice change of pace after having a string of run-ins with very bad service earlier that week. Red Hook Lobster Pound is awesome and definitely deserves five stars. It is also worth taking the trip to Red Hook to check out.

  8. The lobster roll is fresh and tasty. You can sit outside and enjoy the weather on a nice day while sipping a beer or wine. The alley is closed so you need to enter from the 1st street side.
