The service was good for me. I see many people are complaining otherwise. However, my waiter was friendly and was fast enough with the food. However, like most red lobsters the food is cheap seafood and not very good. I was very disappointed with my meal considering the nice price of it.
Save your money for real quality seafood at city island or even a good Italian restaurant. Definitely not worth the money. Unless you are used to low-quality fish and seafood you will be very disappointed with Red Lobster.
Last night was the best experience I've had at this location. Why? Because i sat at the bar, which was really nice. There was an hour wait to be seated, not surprising on a saturday night. But you'll NEVER catch me waiting that long to just to be seated at red lobster. So we did the next best thing, checked out the bar area. Some people were leaving so we took their seats. It was perfect!
I already knew i wanted a good, strong drink (long, rough day). I ordered a strawberry lobsterita, frozen. It was sooooooo yumtastic and massive!!! And not expensive at all. I drank 1/2 of it too fast lol it was just that good. The bartender was amazing. It was a crowded area and she was handling it all by herself with a smile and a pleasant attitude. The biscuits kept coming, fresh & hot. (Not dark and burnt, i hate that) …. For my entrée i ordered the seaside shrimp trio (fried, scampi, & linguini) with a baked potato (ceaser salad)….everything was excellent.
Going fwd I'll be sure to sit in the bar area only. The food was great and so was the service. I was pleasantly surprised!!
I'm a horrible person for being a yelp elite and stepping inside a Red Lobster. I'm a horrible person for spending $$30+ on a watered down pina colada for the novelty of the mini-Hennesy's. I'm a horrible person for thinking that things would turn out differently as I stepped inside a Red Lobster after 5+ years away.
Instead, it was the worst. Service was horrible. Biscuits that used to be somewhat good were now extra salty. Everything was so, so salty. Shrimp scampi was merely a few bits of shrimp here and there in garlic, butter, and extra salt. Yuck. Coconut Shrimp was extra sweet. Nothing was flavored right.
I kept ordering drinks to make up for my disappointment. Despite the fact, the life-sized margarita and the pina colada did not make me tipsy. And it was highly overpriced. I ask myself…what the hell was I thinking?
I was quite excited to try this place since I always see the commercials on TV and I am always just drooling watching it but I should've known that obviously it would be way better than the real deal. But I can say for certainty that I am never going to another Red Lobster again.
The mussels were way overcooked and dry and the sauce way too flavorful. The oysters were huge but lacked freshness and it was so difficult to eat. The shrimp and lobster had way too much salt, I was chugging water like there was no tomorrow. The broccoli was yellow and brown and soggy, literally broke apart as I went to pick it up with my fork. There was five of us and we ordered so much food and walked away very disappointed. The only good things were the biscuits, the clam chowder, and the desserts. Our waitress was very friendly so service was good but I can't believe I waited for 30 minutes and paid so much for a very disappointed meal.
My husband and I normally avoid chain restaurants. However, when my very nice father-in-law wanted to go there and treat my husband and me after the Yanks game, then we couldn't just say no to a free meal!
Considering it was a Red Lobster in Yonkers, NY, I enjoyed my combination meal which was shrimp scampi, salmon, and something else. I even enjoyed my salad and those legendary cheese biscuits. I was at the same table as Jason M. (my husband) and our waiter was very welcoming and efficient. I wish I had got his name but he was a tall African-American man in his 20's and was working the May 27th dinner shift.
20 minute wait on a sunday afternoon around 3pm.
Food Is good, but service seems to be lacking..front girls are chatting with each other instead of making sure they get your name and number.
Bartender chris is great, overworked no help. Manager seems to be missing in action. What a shame, restaurant has potential to be great.
Too bad that management seems not to care and does not look to improve upon it, instead of doing a mediocre service. Take a hint from the Red Lobster in BK.
A rest is not just food, its also service which seems that you guys forgot
Let me start by saying that I am not a seafood lover. I took my boyfriend here for his birthday dinner. Even though for me, the pickin's were slim, I give thumbs up to our server – Anthony M – & to the service! We started with some frozen drinks which were quite delicious & nibbled on the little cheddar biscuits until our salads arrived.
Then the main course… For him: Wood-Grilled Lobster, Shrimp & Salmon & for me: NY Strip steak. I was considering actually trying the shrimp linguini alfredo because I wasn't certain I was feeling the peppercorn seasoning that topped the steak but I shared my concern with the waiter & he assured me that it was only a glaze & not marinated into the meat. So I went with it… It was okay. Not an Outback steak but it was okay. My boyfriend thoroughly enjoyed his dish! And that's the main reason we were there!! So for my honey's overall enjoyment & the great server/service I'm giving this Red Lobster 4 solid stars! Also, the waiter was cool enough to throw in some extra cheddar biscuits with my doggie bag!
Just one thing I noticed when the bill came there was $2.50 each added to each drink price for the alcohol. I guess the frozen drinks automatically are under 21 until an adult orders them? That was a little odd to me… Just be aware of it!
I'm going to give my maximum-allowable amount of stars to a chain restaurant. It's corporate food, it's a little too expensive, and it tastes like something that was made by a machine… probably because it was. Doesn't mean I don't like it, but this is no Smith & Wollensky's either.
This is a very well decorated and lit location, one that makes you feel like you're not at a typical Darden slop trough, then again, they did split from Darden recently… maybe that's made a difference.
Our server was exceptional, especially considering we were in Yonkers. Enormously nice and attentive… wish I could remember his name so I could thank him publicly.
It is what it is, just like every restaurant of this ilk.
