Wow!!! Love this place! Yes it's a little pricey for Asian cuisine, but the food does not disappoint! Every single item I had was delicious! Coming from a picky eater, I had everything without alterations and was beyond amazed!
The dishes are small, but there is so many choices on the menu it makes it great for big parties. It's also a great spot for date night!
We got the following:
Filet mignon tarts- small and only comes with two, but the one bite has so much flavor it is a must order!!
Spring rolls- the presentation alone is a great picture opt!
Shrimp/beef dumplings- part of the specials. Super yummy!
Five flavored chicken dim sum- must get this and probably more than one! By far the best tasting dish and dumpling I have ever had in my life!
Crunchy beef – super yummy especially if you don't like your meat cooked rare
Vegetable noodles- such a simple dish, but solo good!! Packed with veggies and no nasty oil!
I can't wait to go back and try more dishes. Everything people ordered around me looked delicious.
RedFarm serves high-quality Chinese style food absent all the crap that makes American Chinese style food really bad for you. The soup dumplings were superb as was the beef fried rice. We also ordered the steamed Chinese broccoli that arrived without the broccoli florets–it was a plate of stems. Curious. Fried shrimp stuffed jalapeno poppers were scrumptious. And the plate of two Kumamoto oysters were fresh tasting but I didn't care for the lemon mignonette. I wanted to order more just to sample the various delicious sounding dishes, I exercised rare discipline and left without ordering anything else.
RedFarm is usually packed and for good reason. I stopped by on a Friday prime time. Not a good idea if you want to hear your partner speak. The place is loud and crowded but this adds to the overall festive atmosphere. Service was slow but that's because the place was insanely busy. I'd like to return soon on an off-night in the unlikely event that such a night exists.
Asian Fusion in the Upper West. This place is crazy busy. Their range of cocktails small but most are unique… (Jalapeno Infused Rum Margarita anyone?) The food, also not all run of the mill 'Chinese food'. I loved the Shrimp stuffed Jalapeno Poppers, the Asian BBQ Pork Chop (with loads of mixed vegies) Duck Rice Noodle (like a Kwey Teow) and the Steak. Served with either a great cocktail or Sake MMM, it's well worth a visit.
They don't take reservations, so get in quick or be happy to wait a little
This is basically an overpriced restaurant that claims to have legit chinese dim sum when it's not. The waitress gave me a weird look when I asked if it's fusion..and she clearly told me it's real Chinese dim sum which really wasn't the case so I'm not sure why they have their waitresses telling customers this. So if you're craving chinese dim sum do not come here because they don't really have any authentic dim sum dishes. But if you're interested in trying dim sum with a twist..or that's fusion..give red farm a try.
This restaurant is my chinese go to in NYC. Excellent food, service, cleaniness. Go for the PacMan dumplings and crispy beef!
Overpriced Chinese restaurant with ridiculously expensive drinks! I'll start with that they didn't offer full menu and had few things from it. They had their available dishes taped on the door of the restaurant. We were offered citrus white sangria without telling us the price. Waitress didn't pay any attention to us. They brought my dumpling screwed with 4 dumplings on it while on menu says only 4 so you figure if it's 4 screeners or 4 dumplings because the waitress didn't even bother to tell us. They didn't bring my friends order with mine so we had to wait 35 minutes for 4 steamed vegetable dumplings keep in mind that the place was empty! Extremely disappointing & ridiculously expensive! I'm never going back!Ill post picture of the check so you will have better understanding of my annoyance! Do yourself a favor just go somewhere else!
Popped in here for a little snack while waiting for my daughter to come out of the Beacon. There was parking right outside and the place was jam-packed on a Tuesday evening, so it should be good, right? Yeah, it was good – I ordered the Mojito de Cana – that was really good, the piece of fresh sugar cane stirrer was nice touch.
The crispy crab and duck dumpling was very good, although they don't tell you there's a crab claw hiding in the batter and before I knew it, I was chewing on a crab shell and wondering how the duck had gotten so crispy.
Anyway – good stuff, excellent atmosphere, will try more dishes next time
This felt like such a rip-off. I was so excited to try Red Farm and frankly, wish I'd gone elsewhere. i stopped here for a late lunch on a Saturday and ordered the pac man dumplings (of course) a green salad and a glass of prosecco. The dumplings were cute but pretty flavorless, the salad was fine but at $16 way more than it should have been, but the most annoying thing is that a waiter took away my prosecco with at least two swallows left. I hate calling out after like I'm cheap or in need of alcohol, but i was savoring the end, and really annoyed that they removed it without asking. In all, I spent $50 with tax and tip which is outrageous for the amount of food and drink I got.
