  1. This review is based on their rectangular take out pizza which I just had at my friend's house.  It was excellent.  It reminded me of the homemade thin crust pan pizza that my  family used to make on cookie sheets at home.  Nice flavors, quality ingredients, and a crispy crust that can only be made
in a lightly oiled pan.  I'll def go back and try their other food based on this.  I hear they have a pork bracciolo over polenta which is excellent.

    Nicely done, Rezza!

  2. Came here last night with my fiancé and my parents and we all really enjoyed ourselves. The food in general was very good and our service was great! Everything came out in a timely manner and we didn't get rushed out which was really nice. Their bread is Sooo good, warm and toasty and they give u oil to dip.. They had no hesitation giving us more bread (the 3 times we asked! Lol it was that good) my mom ordered a salad and a side of broccoli rabe (very good and not bitter tasting) my dad got the Sunday dinner which he's ordered before and he really likes! My fiancé got the grilled salmon, he said it was very good although it wasn't really a big piece for the price.. It would have been fine for me but he eats a lot so def wasn't enough for him.. I had a pasta special with fresh mozz, eggplant, shrimp in a light marinara sauce.. Mine was good and I had plenty left over as it filled me up but I wasn't over the moon with it.. Something about it was a little bland.. Overall though we really enjoyed our meal and would def return again. I wanna try their pizza which looked phenomenal!

  3. Recommended by a friend, we have visited two times over the past month and each time we have come away impressed. My wife has fallen in love with their egg plant entree and has ordered it at every visit. She describes it as spiced well, cooked properly and full of flavor. I have been more experimental, trying 2 different dishes but the shrimp appetizer – fresh, cooked to perfection and made with the best ingredients – was a repeat order. On our last visit, I had a pasta special with a lobster flavored red sauce. No chunks of lobster, just lots of fresh crustacean flavor – very innovative. Before that, I had chicken with potatoes – it was fresh, plump and moist. Excellent.

I have had their cheese cake for dessert each time and it has been wonderful My wife had their ricotta fritter – light and not overly sweet. We also requested and received (free) a taste of their homemade fig gelato – etherial!

Lots to like here. First – the owners are aways on the premises, a good thing. Second – the prices are in line with the quality. Third – they clearly use fresh ingredients. It's obvious that the owner has ambition and skill. However, he also has talent – I see it as creativity and vision. You can't teach that.

Some other thoughts – This could easily be a 5 star review. The owner, a CIA graduate and fresh from up-scale NYC restaurant service, is a professional with an innovative and creative spirit. While Rezza is still getting its legs since it's not even 6 months old, it is already making a name for itself in the very competitive NJ Italian food business. The wait staff is still a little green but our last server, Jason, was clearly the kind of person the establishment needs as staff leader – he was excellent.

I think within the next 6 months, they will get the staff training perfected and this will become a 5 star standout – maybe even a destination eatery for anyone wanting good, flavorful Italian food. I wish them luck.

Update: The fifth star just went on. We have eaten here about once a month and the quality has remained excellent. We tried the pizza and, no surprise, it's great. On a recent visit, I tried their polenta – the last time I had this dish was at a Michelin starred restaurant in Verona, Italy. Rezza 's is better… I can't wait to have it again. This will become a destination eatery.

    Well done!

  4. I heard really good things about this place from friends.
We were craving pizza and decided to go out of our way to try a new spot.
It's apparently a converted Bensi. On the inside it didn't really have a Bensi feel to it. It was modern and casual/upscale. It's a BYOB and make sure you bring because it's 1 mile down the road (the nearest liquor store that is).
They make thin crust square pizza. You have the option of doing half and half.
Our server was so pleasant. He was a younger gentlemen and was very knowledgeable and attentive.
They bring out warm, fresh bread to start. Dip it in olive oil with pepper/grated cheese and you're in heaven.
We started with a beet/arugula salad and potato leek soup. The salad was split into two for us and as usual we get dressing on the side (as to not make it soggy). Delicious! The soup was very hot and even when we waited a few minutes it was still very warm. Chunks of potato and luckily there wasn't a hole in the bowl (get it…leek…ugh anyway).
For our entrée we split a pie (with enough to take home and have lunch with the next day). BBQ chicken and meatball/ricotta. I loved the BBQ chicken. Warm BBQ sauce does it for me. Many pieces of chicken and cheddar/mozz cheese. Mouthwatering! The mb/ricotta was good. I didn't love it. The meatballs were thinly sliced and clumps of ricotta. I would get it again but BBQ chicken is #1!
Prices are really reasonable. Soup/Salad, whole pie, still bottled water and pizza with specialty toppings was barely $40…
It's kid friendly and great for groups. There is a pizzeria side that is smaller and more for takeout.
    ENJOY!

  5. A lot of people I know love Rezza but I just can't get there. It's good, kid friendly and reasonably priced, but it's just OK in my opinion. My favorite things here are their entrees, especially the mussels and the soups. The main dishes are alright, but nothing to write home about. Some of the chicken dishes I have tried are just not too exciting or tasteful, like the chicken saltimbocca, though I have enjoyed the linguine and clams. The pizza is pretty good, but it has its own unique taste. My husband absolutely loves it, while it reminds me of Pizza Hut with the buttery crust and cheesiness. But it's fresh and definitely has flavor. Their homemade gelato is delicious and worth saving room for! The ambiance here is pretty nice. While situated in strip mall, it's still got a warm feeling and you know you're dining out. The service is always nice and attentive, it's BYOB and very family friendly, while not being too overwhelming with children.

  6. The last two times I got takeout dinner (the last was Saturday) it was as delicious as a, "sit down" dinner. The veal marsala was incredible, thin and fork tender, but the grilled octopus was over the top! Cooked to perfection with that smokey flavor you want! I love the light sauce and fingerling potatoes that come with it. I know, a lot of people don't go for octopus or squid, but here it's done up to perfection! Up the street at Lithos it's great too but you'll pay double for it.

  7. Blah food with pleasant service. Pasta e fagioli soup was meh, lacking flavor. Burrata was nice and creamy but the tomatoes were drenched in balsamic so the dish was inedible on the whole. The burger was decent.
